Does NYT/CBS Poll Mean Shenanigans for the Sunshine State?

In what could be a portent of things to come, the media is already playing games with numbers in Florida. As has been widely reported, a new New York Times/CBS News/Democratic National Committee poll has Barack Obama pulling away from Mitt Romney in three battleground states.

(Well, okay, there's no proof that the DNC actually paid for the poll, but, given the rather questionable results, it might as well have. Although it's kind of redundant to list the DNC anyway, given the two sponsoring media organizations.)

The survey purports to show that Obama has reached the suddenly magical number of 50% in Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania. The authors of the report all but fail to admit that they accomplish this by weighting the polling samples toward Democrats -- and heavily weight them, at least in the case of Florida.

Buried in the Quinnipiac College report on the poll is the actual number of people it queried in telephone surveys. Of the 1,177 people polled in Florida, the numbers by party affiliation break down like this:

Republican - 359 or 30.5%

Democrat - 373 or 31.6%

Independent - 393 or 33.4%

Other/Don't know/etc. - 52 or 4.4%

These are seemingly realistic numbers, representative of what a random sampling might produce. However, once the pollsters "weighted" the numbers, this is what they came up with use:

Republican - 27%

Democrat - 36%

Independent - 32%

Other/Don't know/etc. - 5%

Republicans' responses were decreased and Democrats' responses were increased to give Democrats a 9% overall margin. Independents were also decreased slightly. How did this affect the overall result?

One purpose of a poll like this is to gin up some phony historical credibility for an Obama “win” once they get done stuffing the ballot boxes on November 6.

So.. having IN THE SAME DATA the acknowledgement the R to D spread is actually only 1.1%, CBS/NYT/Quin sampled their polling at Dems +9. No predetermined outcome there. /s

NYT/CBS sponsored poll? No two mainstream media sources exist in this country that have a more liberal bias. What else would you expect from their poll.

The only thing these recent polls mean is that the GOP elite stuck us with, perhaps, the worst Presidential candidate in history.

Look for turnouts of well over 100 percent in some districts and trunk loads of ballots that mysteriously turn up a few days/hours after the polls close, a la Minnesota/Chicago etc. Remember, its not who votes but who counts the votes that matters.

I heard Limbaugh a week or two ago talked about this.

BHO won with +5, yet the fraudsters continue to deny reality by sampling at +9

The shine has long been off the dropping the media dumped on the US.

A sign that people are now saying one thing in order to not be accused of being racists, but come in the privacy of the voting booth, vote to throw Obama OUT.

Obviously you were not alive or have no recollection of Bob Dole,Gerald Ford or even the first Bush. Constant harping because you did not get your way does not advance the cause you claim to champion. Get over it and help save our country or go away.

Remember the exit poll farce during the 2004 Bush Kerry election? In fact, the Letist media conducted years of biased exit polls on election day and released the results before the polls closed as to supress GOP and conservative from going to the polls after work. The exit polls were so bogus that no one even bothers to look at them. The Leftists are doing the same thing with the pre-election polls.
