With the full consent of the Cuban leadership, on May 11 of this year, our country has not only resumed work in the electronic center of Lourdes, but also placed the latest mobile strategic nuclear missiles "Oak" on the island. They did not want to do it the amicable way, now let them deal with this," Putin said.

This would be a good time for space aliens to invade...since everything else is going down the drain...why not?

I’m angry too! In 1962 I was taught to dive under desks at school. Fat lotta good that would have done. I never forgot or forgave the Cuban commie bastard! Unreal that he is still alive and still near the seat of power. Someone should remind Fidel that he can’t take an air conditioner where he’s going.

I was in high school at the time. I saw convoy after convoy of bombs, Hawk missiles...you name it, headed into MacDill.

I saw RF-101s zoom climb and head south after takeoff.

Scary stuff.

No crisis. Obammy will help them install the missiles!

Well DUH! They didn't build those missiles themselves!

Barry is no John Kennedy. Or is he?

Hmmm, well, ummm, Kennedy was a womanizer, I think Bend Over Barry is more of a manizer...

In 1962 I was taught to dive under desks at school.

Me too, it had a special urgency as school was on a Marine Corps Air Station in the south east.

It worked for the Soviets in '62, we pulled our missiles from Turkey, they pulled theirs from Cuber.

Might have been a tight end as a kid....but I think he is a wide receiver now.

Question is ~ Who is his dominator that is calling the shots?

“Sorry for the dbl post but my hands are shaking with anger.”

I don’t blame you. I know the feeling.

I was on a submarine off the Havana coast during that time in ‘62 then spent the entire summer of ‘63 in Gitmo.

I say a credibility problem exists here.

As long as a news item is exciting and you can be outraged about it, people don't care if it's true or not.

When they hit us, we should be sure to hit the islands hard enough back that they are below sea level. That will solve that issue.

Nothing like a Manchurian president to stir things up.

I was a young seaman apprentice just out of boot camp. I had just completed 6 weeks of the normal 8 week training course at YN”A” school when I and 8 other classmates received emergency orders in November 1962 to the Naval Communication Station in San Juan to relieve/assist Radiomen process flash traffic to all naval units in the area. They gave us interim secret clearances and a typewriter. I’ll never forget the sea of endless yellow tape.

Port and starboard duty (8 on and 8 off) for two months but since I was a young 18 at the time I managed a LOT of liberty in Old San Juan (mostly on Luna Street) drinking 25 cent beer and cuba libre’s. Wonderful times!

Compare the reaction of our Apologizer in Chief
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
This ‘Mary’ will invite them for a beer summit and they will all walk - well ‘Mary’ will skip - away blaming Bush.

Of course he can invite Boner so ‘Mary’ will apologize and Boner can cry on cue to show those baddies we are serious and may even consider ‘scratching their eyes out’.

Notice this is the 50 year anniversary so this may have some bearing on the ‘news’.

I was an RM2 at the 5 cornered puzzle palace (OPNAV Comm @ Pentagon)and don’t remember any extenuating circumstances (there may have been, it just doesn’t register) now when JFK was taken out, I was at NSS (NAVCOMMSTA WASHDC) Cheltenham and we did go on lockdown for a few days - nobody on, nobody off but we were right below Andrews AFB so that may have had something to do with that.

Funny, of all the ‘real time’ events of my time in (56-64) the only one that stands out is JFK - guess didn’t really pay attention to many of them because that was ‘our job’?

Did you realize that people who got the AFEM for that era (`62) are eligible for VFW?
