Romney Tells Harry Reid To 'Put Up Or Shut Up' About Tax Returns

Mitt Romney took a shot back at Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid this afternoon, responding to Reid's apparently baseless claim that the Republican presidential candidate did not pay income taxes for 10 years.

"It's time for Harry to put up or shut up," Romney said on Sean Hannity's radio show this afternoon. "Harry's going to have to describe who it is he spoke with, because of course that's totally and completely wrong. It's untrue, dishonest, and inaccurate. It's wrong." 

Reid, who doubled down on his claims about Romney's taxes on the Senate floor today, said Tuesday that he learned about Romney's tax returns from an unnamed source at Bain Capital. But Romney suspects that his opponent had a hand in starting the rumor — an equally baseless accusation. 

"I'm looking forward to having Harry reveal his sources," Romney told Hannity. "We'll probably find out its the White House. Look, the Obama campaign is gonna do everything in its power to try and talk about anything besides the president's record."

It's untrue, dishonest, and inaccurate. It's wrong...nothing is beneath this administration - if there was actually evidence in the IRS files that Romney hadn't paid taxes in ten years, or any other kind of irregularities, that information would have been leaked all over the Obamapravda press weeks ago.......

Desperate little Harry Reid's source should be named and then immediately charged with the crime he/she has committed.

Romney can kill this right now by going to the IRS, quoting Harry Reid, and asking for a full investigation into whom at the IRS release information about his tax returns. Don’t just push back but hit their square in the face.
