Senate Republicans recently blocked cybersecurity legislation, but the issue might not be dead after all.

The White House hasn't ruled out issuing an executive order to strengthen the nation's defenses against cyber attacks if Congress refuses to act.

“In the wake of Congressional inaction and Republican stall tactics, unfortunately, we will continue to be hamstrung by outdated and inadequate statutory authorities that the legislation would have fixed," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said in an emailed response to whether the president is considering a cybersecurity order.

Most Americans, knowing little more about Mitt than has come out in the current campaign (and Barack Obama has never accused Mitt of being too liberal), will view Mitt as merely the un-Obama and if they are sick of Obama will highly likely vote for Mitt. The body of Freepers knows far more about Mitt than that, which is why about half including his Estimable Jimness are saying nyet to the idea of ever voting Mitt and most of the rest (which includes me) are talking clothespins on their noses. But I’m just handicapping the race as it stands, not as FR would have held it.

Barack won’t be able to cheat his way out of this one. It will be too lopsided.

Mitt has already promised to take a huge eraser to a pile of EOs. We’ll see what that looks like on the evening of January 15th.

You said: “The Dims in Congress do not care a wit about the Constitution so they won’t fight to protect their own power.”

LOL! What in heck do you think the dems are doing NOW with all the disgusting ads saying Romney is a “felon”; “tax cheat”, a murderer, etc. You may be correct in thinking they don’t care a whit about the Constitution .. but I’ve never seen that stop them from feeding the public lie after lie after lie - TO KEEP THEIR POWER!!!!!

The only reason the dems want Obama in the WH - IS SPECIFICALLY TO KEEP THEIR POWER!!!

You and I are speaking about two different kinds of power.

I was speaking of the power conferred upon congress by the Constitution. You are referring to raw power to bend the populace to the will of their party.

The Democrats apparently are willing to surrender the former for the latter.
