Willard and the GOP-e are determined not to support traditional marriage...

They sent me their 2012 Presidential Platform survey

Theres no place to vote for or against including same sex marriage as a plank..

No mention at all of gay issues...

The GOP POTUS nominee always gets to OK the platform...

Willard seems to want to spread same sex marriage from MASS to the rest of the nation ...

all he has to do is say he “sustains” the law of the land that Obama started and not do anything...

The Republican can attempt to hold his feet to the fire till they burn right up to the knees but they wont force Willard to move to the right...

Ahhh, yes. I remember Mr Green. He was a happy moment for the Dems in 2010. Thanks for the memory.

I have been here for most of Free Republic’s existence, I do not recall Morris Dee’s or the SPLC being applauded at any point for anything. Scathing invective yes, lauded no!

hahah That is a democrat I can vote and maybe would vote for!

Regretfully he can’t beat Corker, but I would love to see the two “debate”, he might do well, with the blind democratic vote combined with some of the Conservative & libertarian vote.

If what you say is true, then Mitt might destroy the Federal republican Party just like David Cameron is/has destroyed the British Conservative party.

Mitt would be well advice of the consequences of his act, if he does not fight this sick abomination that is homosexual high-jacking of marriage not only will his first term be in jeopardy but his 2nd term hopes will be nonexistence.

The Federal Republican party is already on the brink, he would have to be insane to break it completely with such a move.

Come now. They would be in a position to round up freepers and other trouble makers at earliest a year after the inauguration. In the interim, he’d have to consolidate power, find some way to eliminate those pesky legislators and checks and balances.

He can say whatever he vlikes, he can say he is a Christian pro life pro family guy, but what on earth is he doing in the Democrat party???

I call anybody a liar that says they are Christian pro life and still want to be a Democrat

The Democrat party is anti Christian to the core, I hope the people of Tennessee do not fall for this.

The last guy in this position was Harold Ford JR, every other word out of his mouth was Jesus while he was running. Harold has not mentioned the name of Jesus since.

The term “Christian Democrat” is a oxymoron and people need to realize this.

If by some freakish chance that he is not a bad guy? He needs to see that he is only hurting the cause by wanting to be part of the anti Christian Democrat party.

The only good Democrat is how many feet under???

Clayton said he’s an unpaid vice president and does occasional writing for Public Advocate of the United States, which was designated as “an anti-gay hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center in March. A story on the center’s web site says Public Advocate “has spread lies and vitriol about LGBT people to raise funds, impede progress toward greater equality and to deny LGBT people basic dignity and respect.”

What in the blazes is the SPLC doing trying to advance an LGBT agenda? One would think they would know that single parentage and sexual debauchery in the family are an important factor in deepening inter-generational poverty.

Do I need a sarcasm tag? The attack-trained leeches ("lawyers") at the SPLC, need "the poor" in order to stay in business.

I think you nailed it. It would not surprise me if this so-called denunciation by the Rat party is part of his strategy.

The Rats are not known as the evil party for nothing. They will say and do anything to get elected.

But if this guy gets elected he willl vote for Reid as leader of the Senate and will vote for Babs Boxer, Schumer, etc. to be committee chairmen.

Reid will even give him a pass to vote with the Republicans when the Rats have the vote sewed up so it does not matter.

Tenn. Republicans should not fall for this act. If he wants to be a conservative he has to change his party.

Indeed. My late, diehard Democratic grandparents would be turning in their graves at what the party they supported back in the FDR days has turned into.

It’s past time for the Democratic Party to change its name to the more accurate Socialist/Communist party.

The Clayton campaign’s Facebook page champions three major positions: strict adherence to the U.S. Constitution, family stances that are pro-life, and keeping the country from turning into “AN ORWELLIAN SUPER STATE.”

There have it. The three things which are an absolute anathema to today's Democrat party:

  1. strict adherence to the U.S. Constitution
  2. Pro-life, pro-family stances on social issues.
  3. keeping the country from turning into “AN ORWELLIAN SUPER STATE.”
