Ted Cruz, who rode a tea party wave to win the Texas Republican Senate nomination last week, said Sunday the movement will “overwhelmingly” support Mitt Romney in the November presidential election.
Mr. Cruz said tea party activists will rally in defense of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee because they’re “energized” to defeat President Obama.
“I have spoken with literally thousands and thousands of tea party activists, and I have yet to met a single tea party leader that is not going to vote for Mitt Romney and work hard for him,” Mr. Cruz said on Fox News Sunday.
“Our country is in crisis, and we’ve got to stop this Obama agenda if we’re going to preserve opportunity for our kids and grandkids.”(continued)

take it however you want but that was a cut and paste error. If you think a Romney victory represents a victory for conservatism, you’re freaking delusional. Our best case scenario is to end up with Obama back in the whitehouse and republicans in control of both the senate and the house and that is the outcome I am hoping for. Obama is nothing without Harry Reid and Nanci Pelosi to ram his agenda down America’s throat. Furthermore, if we control the house and senate, we can remove Obama from office the way it really ought to be done, via impeachment.
I remember the Supreme Court picks being underwhelming but I also remember the reason was a man named John Sununu — known liberaltarian. Conservatives were not calling Reagan a liberal, as we know Romney is a liberal. In fact, Reagan warned us of Romney and his ilk and how we should never consider turning the party over to him and his socialist friends.
I guess everyone forgot that too.
Just a couple additions. When the Media starts screaming that from the rooftops, it’s over. Romney will be in deep trouble. And how the hell are we supposed to defend against that? Seriously? We sure as hell can’t show his record.
And when George Soros came out and gave the OK for Romney, why does anyone think he did that? Because Romney presents no block to his agenda.
But that’s ok right? Because the congress that is about to cave on funding Obamacare will stop him. They won’t stop hardly anything Obama makes a serious attempt at, but they WIL stop their own party boss.

We can clearly see that Mr. Cruz is a skilled politician. He's spoken to thousands and thousands of TEA party activists yet he can only say the leaders are solidly behind Mitt.
So, you prefer Obama over Romney. Thanks for clearing that up so everyone here knows where you're coming from.

Unless we get a Veto Proof Majority in the House and the Senate (which will never happen), and I mean one that will overcome the RINO’s that will reach across the aisle and Vote with the Democrats, you are living in a fool's paradise.
I’ve gone to several TEA Party events here in my hometown, and I support the TEA Party. I guess that makes me a “member” of sorts. And as for me ... I would crawl over broken glass to vote for a syphilitic goat in November, as long as that goat had a pretty good chance of beating Barack Obama.
I think it’s better to get our own highly flawed candidate into office, and then HOLD HIS FEET TO THE FIRE by making it clear we will NOT turn out for him a second time if he doesn’t at least attempt to act like a Conservative. We might manage some concessions from Romney if we are consistent. We will never get ANY concessions from Obama. That makes my choice clear enough for me.

At least Romney gave a powerful speech about how evil Iran is while in Israel and he’s been relentlessly swinging for the fences for capitalism vs. Obamaism.
Obama is truly scared of Mitt’s speaking/debate abilities and he knows Romney will embarrass the sht out of Obama’s flawed policies.
At least for now, Romney’s campaign messages would seem to be CURRENTLY what you and I want to hear.
So, having said, that, please explain yourself and tell me that you’re willing to pull the lever for Obama because there are going to be only two choices. It’s not a perfect world and sometimes you have to swallow your pride to prevent Obamageddon. I am more worried about 4 more years leading to Obamageddon than anything else.
Mitt will kick Obamas azz if you give him a chance. The debates will be fireworks and Obama will walk out of there the laughing stock. At least I’m hoping that’ll happen because someone needs to do what McCain was too feeble to do 4 years ago.

Just to be clear, I hate them both equally and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. Romney has never done anything consistent with conservative values. He sticks an R at the end of his name and claims it makes him a Republican despite the fact that 99% of his actual deeds say otherwise. he permanently banned assault rifles in Massachusetts and then claimed he was a lifelong member of the NRA. He passed a meaningless immigration law before leaving office that was repealed a couple weeks after he was gone and claims that this gives him credibility as being tough on illegal immigration. he claims to be against Obamacare even though he invented it years before Obama. He says he didn’t raise taxes on working people to fund the Massachusetts government but he did raise fees and fines instead. He says he’s pro-life but he ran against Ted Kennedy as being staunchly pro-choice. He says he’s pro-military but he dodged the draft during Vietnam. He says he isn’t a lying scumbag but he is. He doesn’t represent me. Not in any way, shape, or form. There’s no way I could vote for him any more than I could vote for Obama. But, if he represents you, vote for him. Of course, if he represents you, I think you’re on the wrong political forum.
I, for one don't have a need to agree with every single position of a candidate, but the many radicals on Free Republic do. I believe these people are more than likely monstrously controlling individuals in their personal life. God forbid if one of their kids make a mistake and woe to the spouse that does not adhere to "The Controller".

The Primaries are over and we have two choices for President. Don't pick one, you pick the other one by default. No brag, just fact.

I'm saying that neither of them have ever done one GD thing to suggest that they represent me or my values (quite the opposite in fact) and now I'm supposed to forget about all that and vote for one of them.
