In this instance the nations involved will have to settle their differences without our intervening.

The Chinese representative should be asked if he speaks Japanese.
When he says “no,” we should say, “you’re welcome.”
China only “owns” America, if we act as if they have control.
America should continue to speak out and get back to doing what we ought?
Any attempt by China to pull a financial string will only backfire on their current and future investments.
China wants no attention on their aggression.

We also have the option of beginning to impose tariffs and other restrictions on Chinese imports that we can make here or get elsewhere.
They don't want multilateral talks because they know it will be the US plus everyone else against China.
.They would prefer to bully all their neighbors one on one.
