The only thing I accept at face value from any government is the news that some political foe has been taken out. However, I’m not sure this is coming from any source other than the rumor mill at this point.
Good point: Russia may have gotten involved just because they knew he’d be out one way or another and the USA wouldn’t be installing anyone first-world friendly.

Very credible report that Assad’s wife flew out of Syria last week to Russia.
Also, Assad is very unlikely to be in Latakia, he was last seen in Damascus.
Syrian Prime Minister Reportedly Has Defected
Syria’s Prime Minister Riad Hijab reportedly has defected to Jordan, according to a Jordanian official and a rebel spokesman (FoxNews)
Business Insider says this is fake:
ANKARA, Turkey – Syria’s prime minister defected and fled to neighboring Jordan, a Jordanian official and a rebel spokesman said Monday, evidence that the cracks in President Bashar’s Assad’s regime have reached the highest echelons of government.
Unless as you hope the Russians manage to install a replacement (meaning another Ba’athist, and a continuation of the fighting between the Syrian government and the Syrian Islamists) his replacement will certainly be worse for the remaining Christians in Syria (about 11% of the population), and most likely worse for Israel (the Ba’athists honored the Golan Heights agreement for decades, much longer than the ten year hudna that is the Islamists maximum duration for a peace with non-Muslims) and America.
So, I shall reserve judgement on Assad's demise till it's confirmed and then the confirmation is confirmed.

Bogus story, twitter is being pulled.
A lesson for us all, there are a lot of fake twitter and facebook accounts.
Crude oil spiked on dumb HFT activity from algos that ‘read’ this tweet.
Which was probably the reason for the tweet: it moved the market.
Clearly it was not from blunt-force trauma to the head.
That had obviously already been tried several times, to no effect.
Hardly.
Of many things, he is also the grand Ghazi in the White House looking to generate the caliphate (at our expense in many ways). Goal number one is the eradication of Israel. After Israel it is Europe and or the US and not necessarily in that order.

I read a few day ago where his wife is not in Syria, but she is in Russia. It is wise that she and all the rest of family are not in Syria now. That place is a powder keg.
