Mike Allen flags this interesting excerpt from Obama's Last Stand, an upcoming e-book on the 2012 presidential campaign by Politico reporter Glenn Thrush: "One factor made the 2012 grind bearable and at times even fun for Obama: he began campaign preparations feeling neutral about Romney, but like the former governor's GOP opponents in 2008 and 2012, he quickly developed a genuine disdain for the man. That scorn stoked Obama's competitive fire, got his head in the game, which came as a relief to some Obama aides who had seen his interest flag when he didn't feel motivated to crush the opposition. Obama, a person close to him told me, didn't even feel this strongly about conservative, combative House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, the Hill Republican he disliked the most. At least Cantor stood for something, he'd say.

In the 1980s I help start an organization at Langley AFB, in Southern VA near Hampton Roads. The Commander of Tactical Air Command was the late General Bob Russ. More than once I thanked him and his organization for their tremendous support and great facilities. He looked me in the eye and said, “There’s two kinds of class...first class and no class”. The “o” is not first class so I’ll leave it up to you regarding what’s left.
Obama started hating Romney when he realized that Romney might spoil his plans for the vacations he intends to take after winning the election.
Obama doesn’t want to lose and hates anyone who might beat him.
That is the one and only reason Obama hates Romney

I think he probably dislikes Romney because he knows Mitt has had many accomplishments in his life. Except being elected what has Obama ever done? Same goes for Clinton who spent his entire life in politics.

'You think you're so smart. There are a lot of smart people.' Sounds like the Obama 'you didn't build that' may have been inspired in part by his opponent. Obama doesn't like the comparison of the highly accomplished Romney and his resume to Obama's paper thin history.

I would think that a white businessman who earned his great success isn’t the type of person 0bama has ever enjoyed being around.
