Economy: The New York Times says businesses are cutting back because of the "fiscal cliff" of spending cuts and tax hikes that'll kick in should Congress remain gridlocked. But what worries businesses more is the Obama Cliff.

If Obama wins in November, the economy will plunge into a real Depression. Patriot business owners must tell their employees that it is likely they will be laid off if that disaster occurs. That will give them something to consider before voting.
My business is nearly dead in the water so to speak, and I have heard that most people wanting to buy concrete are just holding back until Obama is gone.
we are hoping that their will be a return to some normalcy when he is gone, people have adopted the Friday the 13th mentality, they are just holeing up with any disposable income or at home concrete projects.
I kid thee not people are actually waiting for him to disapear before they buy again.
It is not only businesses that are holding back on spending...people are also. nobama is a plague. nobama should be in prison.

That would be interesting to see. I wonder if the Obama DOJ would consider that an illegal action? Something along the lines of Bribery or threatening voter or some such nonsense.
On the other hand a simple notification on the bulletin board about the owner’s intentions vis a vis the election outcome might be sufficient. No threats just a statement of intent.
Normally I have my day job this time of year driving a concrete mixer, that is almost completely shut down, people are buying concrete septic tanks though.
Instead I have been in the shop the last couple of months fabricating projects, last month a built a 10 yard dump truck out of an older truck and a dump box, and the last couple of weeks i have been building a swamp buggy, its based on an old GM 2 ton cabover single axel truck (removed the cab)with a 12” suspension lift over a pair of military axles and will have 55” tractor tires, a GM V6 4 cycle diesel and the cab will be a 1990 F35 quad cab.
I am fabbing the suspension torque arms right now, so the company is keeping me busy, but the purpose for the buggy?
To have access to a gold mining area in Alaska. If we cannot get business with the consumer we will do business with the earth.
The article nails it. My wife and I want to open a retail place in the small town we live in, but I look at the future we face (especially with an Obama re-election) and there is NO WAY I would risk it.
Never, ever put anything political in writing 'as the business.' Win/Lose you become a target of fascist liberalism.
Maybe there is a sense of securing somewhere safe out of the cities before the shtf.
I opened my mircro-business in 2010. We’re up 40% over 2011. Yes, that is an increase you just read.
BUT...I need to hire. NEED to hire and keep shying away from it in leau of an 0bama re-election.
Ohio is doing very well under Kasich and colleagues in my tiny industry are claiming they had a Christmas July sales. We all think it was people taking/making that last hurrah as summer vacations going forward may not be so good. We have all found that people are very concerned over the economy, but are still taking that last great vacation or making trips across the country to see family they may not get to see in while. Gone are the postponing the trip because we’re too busy and here some are realizing it may be their last chance for a very long time.
This is what struck me in that 0bama speech when he told businesses we didn’t build that...it was he talked about the “little vacation,” and the “little American Dream.”
I am working most days from 5am until 11pm at night to avoid hiring. I am ‘dog tired’ as they say in my work. This morning as I showered I felt dizzy and physically exhausted. NEED help...but under 0bama how ...how do I make that happen.
Plus I heard discussion of a $10 minimum wage! I can’t pay that and all the other stuff that comes hiring someone.
Personally, I think the minimum wage should be $100 an hour. Then everyone will be rich!
Look at the bright side: If the minimum wage is $10 it means we will be in serious inflation shortly after that. You can jack up your prices to match. ;-)

You are not the only one. My business will not survive four more years of Obama aka Thulsa Doom.
if romney loses by a small amount, even as sickening as he is, and the issue was the petulant 10/10 “dreamboat or nothing” crowd staying home, I will blame them for the misery we are forced to endure.
“...a political impasse in Washington is the biggest risk to the economy because it will result in huge tax hikes and spending cuts next year.”
Ya think??
That's exactly what I did in 2003. Own everything free and clear. Haven't looked back. Except to admire the pine forest I live in :)
“If Obama wins in November, the economy will plunge into a real Depression.”
The real unemployment rate today is 23% if we use the same statistical methodology as used during the depression. We are in a depession!!! If Obama wins re-election it will become the SECOND GREAT DEPRESSION.
The highest level of unemployment was 25% and averaged about 17% during the Great Depression.

I can see your point. Perhaps a simple notice that looking at the upcoming economic indicators if the Current Occupant of the White House continues in that position mean that the XYZ business will have to close it’s doors and go out of business.
We are terribly sorry that this has come to pass but we just can’t continue to bleed red ink and it’s time now.
One way or another Businesses must let their employees and clientele know that there are consequences to their votes.
