Cancer Victim Had Health Insurance For Year or Two After Bain Closed Plant
National Review Online ^ | 8/7/12 | Katrina Trinko

Posted on 08/07/2012 5:46:39 PM PDT by Nachum

Earlier today, pro-Obama super PAC Priorities USA released an ad in which Joe Soptic discusses how he lost his job because Bain closed a GST Steel plant in Kansas City, Missouri, in 2001, and notes that his wife passed away of cancer not long after, suggesting that she waited to see a doctor (she had stage 4 cancer by the time she received medical attention) because of the couple’s lack of health insurance. Well, first it turned out that Soptic’s wife, Ranae Soptic, died in 2006 — five years after the GST Steel plant closed.

It takes a particularly creepy sleazebag to trample on his dead wife’s memory for a piece of crap like Obama.

As disgusting as this ad is, it is also very much indicative of how the Obama Campaign is viewing the political landscape right now.

This is an ad designed not to boost Obama’s own base, or to flip moderates/independents over to him. It’s designed, explicitly, to suppress the white blue-collar/working-class voters that will either hold their nose and vote for Romney, or stay home.

It means they think they’ve topped out in terms of their own numbers, and now need to pursue other means to get to victory.

Soptic say Romney, being rich, has no idea what it's like to be middle-class, middle-income. That he really doesn't know how it affects people when they are laid off.

So what the heck makes Soptic, an Obama supporter, think that Obama does? Zero has never even had a real job, and has had things handed to him (via affirmative action) his whole life!

Liberalism is a mental disease.

Despite the Obama administration distancing themselves from this slander, I think its clear why they desperately wanted to tie Romney as in charge at Bain up until 2001.

It seems this “Romney killed my Wife” nonsense was the showcase of the Obama campaign strategy to defeat Mitt and win reelection. However, just like everything else the left does, this is blowing up in their faces.

Pathetic.

I just love how cases like these always seem to totally fall apart when even a modest amount of investigation is done. One would think with all of the people at their disposal, they could find SOMEONE that actually fits with their lies to make it work.

Of course, they could run the ad 24/7 and the media would never call them on it. Romney could have given that lady one of his Kidneys and they would continue to act as if he put a .45 up to her head and pulled the trigger.

What could they pay a guy to use his wife’s death as a political prop?

Ask John Edwards.

You're right - Edwards was creepier - he used his wife as a prop while she was dying...

Maybe some freeper should do a 'tackiest dem stunt' thread... could become a classic,,,

It’s hard to believe she was a typical democrat - she seemed better... but I’ll take your word for it. It’s not something I followed closely.

#17: COBRA is hundreds of dollars a month for a single person. For a family, the costs are astronomical. Most people who are jobless (or otherwise) cannot afford COBRA.

She profited off her husband’s abusive lawsuits, too.
