Voters reject middle ground in Kansas Senate races- (Conservatives Beat RINOS!)
Kansas City Star ^ | 8/8/12 | By BRAD COOPER and MIKE HENDRICKS

Conservative Republicans scored big wins across Kansas on Tuesday as they set themselves up to seize control of the state Senate and clear a path for Republican Gov. Sam Brownback’s agenda.

Moderates lost in many key Senate races in Tuesday’s GOP primary, including five of six seats that were up for grabs in Johnson County.

---snip---

In outstate Kansas, conservative challengers knocked off Senate President Steve Morris and fellow moderates Roger Reitz, Jean Schodorf and Dwayne Umbarger. Sen. Pete Brungardt was trailing by more than 10 points early today.

The races were particularly bitter and expensive as the battle between conservative and moderate Republicans reached a 25-year crescendo. At stake was control of the Kansas Senate, where moderate Republicans have teamed with Democrats to slow Brownback’s agenda.

Lived up there for a lot of years before moving to Texas and my kids are products of Shawnee Mission school system which was awesome, as well as KU grads. Hope we can send Selibus back there though in November. Loved reading their comments, particularly the one about the middle-of-the-road Republicans which is where you are most likely to get run over. Hope the Democrats stay home in November.

I hope they stay home too.

My aunt and uncle lived near Overland Park with their kids in Olathe, Kansas. Their schools were quite good back in the mid 60s. I’d imagine they’re still fairly good. Mid-western schools seem to hang in there fairly well.

One Thursday when I was 12 years old, my grandmother tossed me in the car and we went to visit my aunt uncle and family in Olathe. The next day, I went to school with my cousin Jana.

Just after lunch, we were sitting there and some teachers came rushing in with a television. They turned it on and we watched the aftermath of Kennedy being shot in Dallas.

Good luck concerning Selibus.

BTW: I agree about those middle of the road Republicans.

Like Brownback’s agenda is a return to what? Why can’t “moderates” reach across the isle and pull Democrats across?

This is a critical victory for the nation. The more states implementing conservative solutions the starker the contrast with CA, IL and NY and other failed Democratic states/municipalities.

Most excellent, Jayhawks. By taking state legislators, patriots and conservatives are building a strong political base to take on the seditionist rats and RINOs in the fascist federal government.

From the liberal’s perspective, what’s not to like about RINOs?

They’re the “Power Bottoms” of politics!

And I bet those “moderate republican” senators in Kansas thought that Kathleen Sebelius was a fine governor who they could work with.

What is a “moderate,” except someone who aims to be half sick?

More excellent news! Seems the states across our great country are electing conservatives to get us back to where we should be, and get the fed OFF our backs.

There has been many a run off election, in the republican party, across so many states, that we actually have someone to vote for....instead of against.

Perhaps, after all, there IS a light at the end of this dark tunnel.

Please, no more Sebelius. She can stay gone. Two terms of her evil was quite enough. Cheers.

Meanwhile, the moderate Republicans forged an unlikely alliance with organized labor, gambling interests and teachers groups.

Says it all about RINOS.
