Video at Link.

What a wimp. He must be a plant from the democrats. They base their health care system on his Massachusetts plan. Oh, this is just great. At a time when this country is begging for leadership we get Mr oatmeal!

There goes the election.

I could understand if Appreciation Day had been a flop, but people came out in droves! He can see the American people clearly have spoken on this issue. It seemed a slam dunk to me to just stand up with the other hundreds of thousands of Americans. He's going to make people doubt where he stands on the subject.

I won’t be staying at home on November 6, but I won’t be voting for this turd.

Yes, many people are saying that Romney is shrewd and correct to be silent on this issue, but I don’t agree. It is insulting to social conservatives and will in fact cause people to stay away from the voting booths.

Add this to his stance on admitting homosexuals to the Boy Scouts and it is almost like he wants to lose - like McCain who behaved as if he was working for the Obama campaign.

What a wimp.....

All signs point to Romney being the epitome of a limp-wristed girly man.

Romney is a liberal.
Why would Romney support people who support traditional marriage?

Nice! The country is ‘burning down’ from a Socialist arsonist and people are actually thinking of ‘staying home’ on account of a ‘Chick-Fil-A’ fight the RATs started. Why don’t these people just pack up and leave all together, and leave those of who WANT TO REALLY FIGHT FOR OUR COUNTRY AGAINST THE SOCIALISTS GET TO WORK!

Supporting gay Boy Scouts will be his downfall.

We are still in the wilderness, starving for a like-minded leader. We had one, his name is Gingrich, but was way too mean-spirited for the Republicans. Right now, he would be eating at CFA everyday. Will never forget the discussion he had with a gay activist, wanting to know what he would do for the gay community. Newt responded with belief in traditional marriage and if you are looking for something more you should probably vote for Obama. Wish I could post it because it is incredibly enlightening and relevant right now. How sad that ths man is not our nominee.

I would take a plant from the Democrats over the imbecile in there now.

I don’t like the fact that Romney...

- Is a mormon (yeah, I said it)
- Has some shady business stuff (who has offshore accounts?)
- Pushed for RomneyCare (as Santorum said, why would anybody think this guy is the one to challenge ObamaCare?)
- Doesn’t have any balls. If we could take Newt’s and somehow transplant them to Mitt, this election would be over with by October.

It is painful to behold; but hardly unexpected. 'Common Wisdom' - which should have been revised when Bill Clinton was elected - holds still, to 'make nice' and do not rock the boat; as if those 'outside the beltway' can neither appreciate; nor understand; authentic Leadership.

There is a travesty being committed in the name of Republicans and the 'good' citizens America. We have a Party, whose Leadership supports our Military; proudly sends them to defend America on our behalf; while they, themselves, cower in the face of the greatest evil to threaten our nation.

More than a travesty; their abdication of duty and Leadership - their cowardice to name the 'elephant in the room' (or, more to point, the 'donkey' - is a treason committed against America.

An altogether, pathetic history being written. . .

It is understandable that Bill would say this - he is a great guy and I am a member of his Catholic League. Nevertheless, the truth is we won't be voting FOR Romney, but AGAINST Obama so this doesn't mean much. Besides CFA Day was actually a nationwide TEA party rally. The TEA party has one goal and it is defeating Obama.

Nonsense.

“We the People” have this issue well in hand - Romney doesn’t have to try to get out in front of “his mob.” His cause, and ours, is best served by him doing nothing.

Now if we could only get him to roll back his statement on the Boy Scouts of America to “They are a private organization and may do as they see fit.”

Of all the candidates in running for the GOP Romney was only ahead of Ron Paul in my book...
I had every intention of not voting for him as I am sick and tired of the GOP forcing me to choose from real bad to just plain bad... It is still bad...
But the damage that Obama is doing to my grandkids future was starting to outweigh my revulsion. But Romney keeps trying to piss me off on a weekly basis. He keeps this up and he can KMA.

I seriously doubt that. CFA turnout shows how hyped the base is ... nothing more.

Was anyone waiting with baited breath to hear what Mitt Romney had to say about the CFA thing? It wasn’t about him. Who cares?

Romney should have sent CFA to Obama reelection headquarters for lunch on CFA day...

That would have sent a message on so many different levels

In the end I think this missed opportunty pretty much going to blow over once we enter into the last 8 weeks of the election

“He can see the American people clearly have spoken on this issue”

He cannot comment on this issue because polygamy beliefs of Mormons would be raised. One can’t have one without the other and he’s certainly NOT going to speak out against other Mormon beliefs

Romney’s handlers decide where their cardboard man should be posted, placed, planted, posed, and propped.
They’ve done ok so far. Got him the votes needed for nomination. Barring a miracle he will be the candidate.
Why should they put him on a white-hot controversy that will throw them off message and give the media a chance to run fresh anti-Romney quotes from any lefty with a tongue?
Besides, insofar as the cardboard has any personal opinions at all, he is pro-gay; and likely neither Romney nor his handlers are well-versed in the finer points of the controversy, such as the impropriety of govt officials discouraging businesses on the basis of political correctitude.
Really, is anyone surprised that Romney demurred?
If he’s a wimp, what are the people who will vote for him?

It wasn’t a “missed opportunity.” Romney doesn’t consider those mayors to be his foes or the Chik-Fil-A folks to be his friends. He is a Manageriaal Republican, a statist who thinks he can manage the Total State in a more businesslike manner. The problem with the kenyan is his incompetence, not his ideology.
