Komen president resigning, founder shifting roles

The president and the founder of Susan G. Komen for the Cure are both stepping down from their roles, the nation’s largest breast cancer foundation said in announcing a major leadership shake-up. The high-profile departures come in the wake of continuing fallout from Komen’s decision earlier this year to briefly end funding for Planned Parenthood...

It’s the latest shake-up since news emerged in January that Komen had decided to eliminate its funding for Planned Parenthood...

Komen restored the funding after a three-day firestorm, but it didn’t quell the criticism. At least five other high-ranking executives also have resigned, and organizers of many Race for the Cure events saw their participation numbers drop.

The spin from the media is that the pro-abortion crowd is participating in the boycott of the "Race for the Cure" events.

Bullcrap.

For this past supporter, the Komen organization is dead to me.

“For this past supporter, the Komen organization is dead to me.”

My sister is a breast cancer survivor. I will gladly give to EVERYOTHER breast cancer research group. Komen will never see one dime from me! They lost their focus long ago! -more about politics than cancer research. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out about large salaries for their top execs.
Not one dime!

How Leftists take over Non-Profit Charity organizations and turn them into political machines and very little to do with the actual cause that non-profits oritinally intended.

The same pattern.

The most important part of the Boston.com article are the last two sentences:

In response to questions Wednesday about the controversy, Komen spokeswoman Andrea Rader said ‘‘I think Liz (Thompson) made clear in her statement that we feel that we've moved past that.’’

This is just an organizational ploy to give the unsuspecting donor some false sense that Komen is actually doing something about their egregious support for PP. These two women aren't going anywhere, and, by the tone of this "we've moved past that" statement, they haven't learned one bit except that their donations have suffered.

The foundation has invested $1.3 billion in community programs over 30 years to pay for screenings, education, and financial and psychological support for those fighting breast cancer, according to Komen’s statement.

How much of this did Planned Parenthood get? What did PP spend it on? I don't know any women who went there but I'd guess that likely very few of them got a mammogram. Komen shows by its actions, its tricks and its silence on present PP support it is just an organization that is rife with liberal ideological dogma. They only did this to continue the money stream.. Not buying that line here.

First of all,

WHY in the world ‘finding cure for breast cancer’ has anything to do with planned parenthood, since planned parenthood is absolutely not about women’s health?

I have also donated to Komen in the past. Never again.

In that 3 days when I thought Komen had seen the light, I signed up to walk a third time. So I get the emails and I’ve done most of the training but I haven’t raised a dime. I’m pretty comfortable with that.

My wife had breast cancer over 20 years ago and underwent major surgery. When we left the hospital she told me about the Susan B Komen foundation. She wanted to contribute so we were supporters even since. We participated in several of their “Race for the Cure” events.

When we found out that they contribute to Planned Parenthood she said no more so we stopped. I called, wrote letters, responded to their website and sent emails asking to be taken off their mailing lists. I explained the reason and they kept telling me that their funds do not go to support abortion.

I am still getting mail from them requesting donations. i call every month and they assure me that they will remove my name from their lists. Four months ago I started to return all of their correspondence. If they want to continue sending me mail, they can pay to have it returned.

It is a shame they will not accept the fact that people do not support Planned Parenthood. They feel that the drop in participation has been because they stopped supporting that organization for three days.

There are plenty of other credible Christian charities to fight cancer. Their time has come.

Komen's is over.

Members of our church used to support the Komen projects. We did not know they were supporting the baby murder of Planned Parenthood. We do not support Komen now. That is the real story about the organization’s falling participation numbers, but the media liars will never admit it.

Komen: Preventing breast cancer by helping the slaughter of countless unborn females.

But since there is credible information that abortion increases the risk of breast cancer maybe they are just insuring their job security by perpetuating the disease.

You are correct, sir. That could certainly be possible.

“How Leftists take over Non-Profit Charity organizations and turn them into political machines and very little to do with the actual cause that non-profits oritinally intended.”

You're dead on, except that it isn't just charity organizations - this is also the case for national church organizations, the press, academia, and Hollywood. The method they employ is that leftists only hire or promote other leftists. Conservatives tend to hire and promote based on ability and performance. Over time this means any organization with more than just a few leftists in it will eventually be overrun and completely controlled by them.

Keep taking the mailings and throwing them away. They are using resources that might otherwise go to abortions.

This has of course been happening in local newsrooms for years. The result is a MASSIVE dumbing down of the profession and their consumers.
