Lawyers for James Holmes just stated in open court -- they believe their client suffers from a mental illness ... and they need more time to figure out what's wrong with him before entering a plea.
Holmes' attorneys made the announcement during a hearing today, in which several news outlets had assembled to argue that the judge in the case should unseal court documents that could reveal important details about the July shooting in Aurora, CO.
Both the prosecution and the defense wish to keep the documents under wraps while the case is pending.
While everyone was in court, Holmes' attorney also appealed to the judge on an unrelated note -- demanding prosecutors and investigators turn over ALL documents related to the case ... in order to help the defense team determine just how crazy their client is.
The lawyer said, "We cannot begin to assess the nature and the depth of Mr. Holmes' mental illness until we receive full disclosure of all the documents."
It's the first mention of Holmes' intent to pursue an insanity defense.
Apologist for Holmes? Why don’t you marry him?
“they believe their client suffers from a mental illness”
That’s nice...now hang him.
Weaponized psychedelic drugs are potentially an even more powerful weapon than any firearms or bombs.
I highly, highly doubt the research of such weapons ended with MK Ultra.
Apologist for Holmes??? Hardly.
I think his mind has been messed with and I am not sure he was actually the killer. But even if he was, it is possible to program someone to kill and not remember it.
Be honest with yourself. If your son had committed a crime , and the evidence had holes in it, and you had plenty of money - wouldn’t you seek the best defense.
Holmes is going to go down as the patsy and I doubt there will ever be trial.
I can tell you without a doubt if my son had been caught red handed and identified INSIDE the theater with a gun in his hand shooting up all the victims ...I would STILL get the best defense to help him get through the legal process.

If I told that poster that the CIA was out drugging people in public and following them around to see the reaction ....that poster would have just told me I was nuts and it was a nut job conspiracy.
Of course, that is EXACTLY what the CIA did.
I think the bread hallucination in France was the result of some intelligence bureau.

I doubt that anyone in the theater can identify the shooter
as the shooter was covered from head to toe in black
including a gas mask. How many psychotropic drugs was Fenton giving Holmes ?
I posted something done by Fenton that was a diagram of pills and reactions. She definitely was involved in that kind of research.
I have never taken LSD or mind altering drugs. I read the account of the Federal Marshall who thinks he was slipped LSD as part of Operation Midnight Climax. He went on quite a ride.
I keep harking back to the ole’ days of the CIA and wondering if someone isn’t experimenting with Bath Salts.
here is the biography of Fenton.

These seems like overworked if you are dedicating 1 hour to each plus all other activities:
Clinical Activities:
Medical Director, Student Mental Health Service, University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus, 2009 present
medication and psychotherapy for 15-20 graduate students per week
coordination of team of four mental health clinicians
supervision of R4 and R3 residents who treat student
lectures, outreach to students, administrators and faculty
Psychiatrist, 5-10 general psychiatry patients, medication and psychotherapy, 2008 - present
Indeed, he could be both insane and criminal. One does not necessarily exclude the other. And if he were insane, why did he try to save his own neck or took so much technical precautions (vest and all).
It does not make any sense.
Heck, he could have been controled too.
You got that right Pardner.
Lets be clear here: She was addicted to prescription drugs. Writing prescriptions for employees, and spouses are almost always 100% for the prescriber's own use. Been there got the tee-shirt, the rehab-archipelago treatment. She certainly was followed up with a consent decree requiring submitting to random bi-weekly then weekly urine drug screens. Now, if she failed any of them she would be under tremendous pressure; she would be highly vulnerable to blackmail and extortion. Was her psychiatric relationship with The Joker, under a third party's control?
I don't know. It is very common nowadays for MD's to run afoul of the ubiquitous war on drugs. The practice of one's livelihood for which they trained any number of years after college, medical school etc, is considered "a privilege", to be exercised by license under certain caveats. F'em all.

here is another take on it
“Dr. Fenton had been disciplined in 2004 for writing prescriptions for herself, her husband, and an employee with a headache, events that occurred in 1997-1999 (Colorado State Board of Medical Examiners Stipulation and Final Agency Order, case no. 5101021920, Sept. 23, 2004). Apparently, her prescribing practices came to the attention of the Drug Enforcement Administration when she reported a former employee who was forging her prescriptions to get large quantities of narcotics.
In the course of the DEA investigation, it was revealed that she had written the following prescriptions without documenting them: Claritin and Ambien for her husband, three tablets of Xanax that she took during a period when her mother was dying, four tablets of Xanax for someone who was anxious about an airline flight, and a prescription for a pain killer and sedative for an employee with a headache. Dr. Fenton admitted to these infractions, received a letter of admonition, and was required to take a course on documentation. “

These threads always make it clear there are a lot of loose nuts in America.
