Too bad she didn't mean it in a constitutional way.

I am just a little surprised at her advocacy of the Sikh ethnicity.

First off, Sikhs are definitely NOT Muslim, and have, over the centuries, taken up arms against Muslim incursions upon traditionally Hindu territory. But just as they are not Muslim, Sikhs are not Hindu either, as they believe in a monotheistic being, probably more on the order of the much older Zoroastrian religion, driven out of Persia in the 7th and 8th Century, and which now only exists in a small enclave in India.

If Sheila Jackson Lee bothered to examine the belief system of the Sikh religion at all, she would find they probably are much different than ever she imagined, and that is certainly not at all compatible with Black Liberation Theology. I repeat, the Sikhs are not Muslim.
