Walter Russell Mead is a registered rat, but I find him to be the exception to the rule. He's honest and smart. I can't think of anything he's said or written with which I have a disagreement.
Maybe he would prefer the treatment received by Nixon, Reagan and both Bushes. He’s had his rump swabbed by these stenographers from the get go and complains. What a wuss.

Many moons ago I was quite into reading and studying the Puritans, though not an expert by any means I was vastly more informed than most people...
One of the comments at Mead’s site offers the possibility that Obama is just saying this to get better treatment by the media, but it has the ring of truth. Obama’s always been vain, self-centered, and spoiled, with great feelings of entitlement. Not sure it adds up to some psychopathology though, or a lot more people in Washington and elsewhere would have to be treated.
By press he means FoxNews. He thinks of the liberal media as his PR/publicity department.
