Former Virginia congressman Virgil Goode says voters should turn to a third party if they want real change in the nation.

By Trevor Brown tbrown@wyomingnews.com

CHEYENNE -- Voters need to look to a third party if they want to see real change for the country, Constitution Party presidential candidate Virgil Goode says.

A former congressman from Virginia, Goode stopped here Wednesday during a campaign swing through Wyoming.

“If America wants a true grassroots president who will answer the telephone from somebody sitting in this audience … as quick as they would take a call from somebody like Warren Buffett or a heavy hitter from Bain Capital, vote for Virgil Goode,” he told about 20 supporters outside the State Capitol.

“If you want the same that you got now, vote for (Barack) Obama or vote for (Mitt) Romney.”

Goode was nominated as the Constitution Party’s presidential nominee during its convention in April.

Mitt Romney is not a conservative. A Republican, yes. But most certainly not conservative.

I think Roberts is a good GOP-e kind of guy that cares more about their establishment guy getting elected than he does about doing what’s right.

That makes him unfit for any office let alone the Supreme Court. The GOP-e is the greatest threat facing America today. Until we defeat them, we’ll never win over the Marxist, new world order types or even the Islamofascists.

All you Obama supporters here should be proud of your principled stance!

You’ll be sure to win the argument with that line of reasoning. Voting for Romney in the primary was a vote for Obama’s policies. The same holds true for the general election. The choice is whether you want 4 more years or 8.

HEY!

People who would rather sit around and play armchair cowboy and badmouth someone who is ACTUALLY TRYING TO DO SOMETHING should be ashamed of themselves.

What have you PERSONALLY and physically done recently to keep the country from going down the toilet......slick?

Gave up your personal time with your family to campaign for office? Stomped the streets to register voters? Gave your hard earned money to a political campaign? Worked a phone-bank? Acted as a poll watcher?

HUH? C'mon SLICK...share. You're so free with your criticism and slander of others, why don't you pony up and tell us what YOU'VE done to help the situation.

If you want to help Barack Obama finish off America just send him your donation directly - why bother with a middle man?

Romney is a conservative who believes in and understands the power of liberty.

Seriously, did you post that with a straight face? Romney wouldn't recognize the True face of Liberty even if she walked up and booted him in the arse.

we must give them one more shot to do the right thing.

Lordy, child. Many of us have been 'giving them one more shot to do the right thing' for about a quarter of a century now. I'm not sure about everybody else, but my nose is getting pretty damned sore. :-)

Tell me. How many of our lifetimes do you think it will take for the Republican Establishment to get it right?

IMHO, it will take a major circumstance to *shock* them into realizing conservatives are tired of being forced into picking between socialism and socialism-lite. What that circumstance will be, only time will tell.

Only an idiot or someone who just enjoys being outraged and is not really interested in making a difference would not understand that the best bet is to get a conservative in power within the Republican party and it does happen as anyone can see today with the Tea Party successes against establishment Republicans and in the past with the Young Republicans successes against establishment Republicans.

Mr. Goode should perhaps run for a national office. Like Senator or Congressman. Maybe he could get a toe hold.

Well, he certainly has enough experience running in different parties. He could always try Green or Libertarian and add those to his resume.

One of the more ignorant posts I've ever received.

“Wow, what a vote of confidence.”

Call em the way I see em.
Obama again means we’re screwed for sure.

Some people think they can eat the clean end of a sh*t sandwich, and some of us choose to go with nice, clean, Conservative, Virginia ham on rye instead.

Very pithy. The problem is that you are wrong. You can ORDER a nice, clean, Conservative, Virginia ham on rye. You will not get it. You will get either Romney or Obama.

If you see no difference, fine. Remember, though, that if Obama wins re-election, he can never run for the presidency again. This means that he is free to do what he wants (especially since he doesn't think he needs Congress to do it). If Romney wins, he will have to come back to the conservative base to get re-elected. That means we have a voice at the table.

Your choice.
