If You Like Obama's Failed Policies, Vote for Him
Townhall.com ^ | August 10, 2012 | David Limbaugh

Those who understand that America is now on the wrong track cannot reasonably vote for Obama in November, because he is absolutely unwilling to change, perhaps even ideologically incapable of changing, course. Evidence abounds.

First, consider his disastrous economic record and his rejection of any semblance of a course change. He and his economic advisers told us his stimulus would keep unemployment below 8 percent. It didn't. He didn't consider for a second that his policies exacerbated the economic crisis. He blamed Bush and said that if anything, he -- Obama -- hadn't spent enough. He demanded more stimulus packages -- high-speed rail, other infrastructure, American Jobs Act. He continued to grow government in a wide variety of areas; things continued to get worse. No sign of any significant economic recovery; we had the worst recovery in 50 years. No sign of unemployment relief. He didn't change course.

Despite his failed performance, he told us in 2009 that only the government could break this business cycle. He told us in Osawatomie, Kan., that the private sector couldn't lead us back to economic vitality on its own. Recently, he told us that successful entrepreneurs didn't build their businesses -- or roads or bridges or whatever claptrap he pretended to have meant. He refuses to reconsider his flawed notions. Arrogance, as much as ignorance.

If you think that despite all this, Obama may have learned his lesson and will change course going forward, you are fooling yourself. Obama won't change his economic policies, because he is addicted to spending and to growing government on several levels. His economic philosophy, his ideology and his political survival demand that he stay the course.

He firmly believes that only government spending -- Keynesian pump priming -- can stimulate a moribund economy. He believes it to the point that he's willing to bankrupt the nation to do it. His philosophy countenances no other alternative methods of recovery, specifically letting the private sector breathe and recover on its own. That's the economic philosophy component.

He also knows that the most efficient way to redistribute wealth and otherwise reallocate resources from groups he believes less deserving to those he believes more deserving is through an increasingly progressive tax code and more government spending. That is, even if he shared the ordinary American's debt aversion and reasonable anxiety about our horrifying financial predicament, he wouldn't discontinue (hasn't discontinued) his pursuit of ever-greater taxing and spending, because to do so would be tantamount to abandoning his quest, his obsession to fundamentally transform America. That's the ideological component.

Finally, he fully realizes that even if he didn't firmly believe in expanding the welfare state -- incentivizing states to expand their food stamp rolls, extending unemployment benefits, sabotaging welfare reform, increasing the percentage of people not paying income taxes and otherwise presiding over the unprecedented swelling of the welfare state and those dependent on government aid of one form or another -- he would still be compelled to continue expanding it because he believes a great majority of his constituents depend on this expansion. He couldn't win re-election without doing so. That's the political component.

The same general themes hold true for Obama's extremist environmental agenda. His policies are enormously destructive to our coal, oil, nuclear energy and natural gas industries, but he shows no signs of letting up, even though these policies are also manifestly destroying American jobs and otherwise harming the economy. Why would he? He telegraphed his actions, and he's merely fulfilling his promise.

While sabotaging our reliable energy sources, he is also throwing as much federal money as he can at failed green energy projects, which are so ill-conceived that a reasonable person might conclude his goal is to waste money. Solyndra wasn't the only such failed enterprise, as we've shown. There were a dozen others, and despite these failures and the unconscionable waste, he has revealed nothing but a defiant determination to double down and spend more on other such projects. It's mind-blowing.

Likewise, he pursued Obamacare with maniacal intensity, even when the public clearly and emphatically registered its dissent. His response was more haranguing speeches to browbeat the recalcitrant, ignorant masses into seeing his superior wisdom. Even after the stated purposes for his grand design have been shown to be fundamentally flawed -- it's going to bend the cost curve up, not down, and dramatically so, and it's going to leave 30 million people uninsured -- he is more determined than ever to implement it against the people's will.

I am just getting warmed up here; I haven't even discussed his politics of division or his wars on business, our defenses and the Constitution. The bottom line is this: If you like Obama's record, vote for him, because you're only going to get more of it -- way more if he wins and thinks he has a mandate.

Many Americans don’t even want a President... they want a King. And Obama — who thinks he rules via divine right — is as close to that as they can get.

Sadly we have a guy who should be an easy knock out - who now seems to be (against all historical trends) widening his lead.

On the table: Romney is a murderer, felon, and tax cheat funded by El Salvador death squads...

Off the table: Wright, Ayers, Rezko, CT SSN, etc.

The GOPe is pathetic.

The brilliant, intellectual geniuses of the Progressive Party know exactly what they’re doing and all of you Christian dolts out there, who cling to your guns and bibles, should accept the fact that you’re not intelligent or advanced enough to understand their policies.

If American voters choose to give Obama four more years then the GOPe is irrelevant. America will have conservative congressmen and governors but in a national election we are definitely moving left and that lesson will not be lost on Republicans either.

My husband and I were taking about the polls last night. My husband is Mr. straight arrow. He cuts thorough the crap, and sees only the facts. He's very good at that.
He doesn't believe the polls. They're illogical. Oboma is a lot worse than Carter ever was, and everyone except the hard left is or will be devastated if Oboma wins reelection, and people can sense it.

I agree with my husband on this. Who would want 4 more years of deficits, joblessness, irrational moral depravity, and homelessness? People vote with their pocketbooks. Oboma has not only emptied them, he's emptied their children's and their children's children's pocket books. People would be suicidal to vote for the man. It doesn't makes sense.

Apparently, David Limbaugh does not realize that you cannot reason rationally with irrational people. 47 percent of Americans do not care about the issues he put forth. All they care about is: (1.) Who will keep my Welfare check and food stamps coming? (2.) Who will keep the abortion clinics open? (3.) Who will protect my right to marry someone of the same sex? and (4.) Who is the Blackest candidate running?

That’s all they care about; rational reasoning be damned.

Don't be so sure. I run into a lot of well educated and intelligent (in a professional sense) people that are still dosed with Hopium. Despite pointing out all the problems caused by Obama and his administration, they are still under his spell. It's maddening.

Read the title again and think about it what David Limbaugh meant, which is exactly what you said

Any American who votes for Communist Obama should be required to take a citizenship test and, if failed, should be stripped of citizenship and booted from the country as they do not know the Constitution.

Exactly.

I see the best ploy with nobama supporters is to say to them “if you really like what he really has done, then vote for him”. The dyed in the wool liberal doesn't care about the facts, they only think about “the end justifies the means”. Luckily there is not a true high percentage of hard liberals and the many of the “blinded by the light” and “whitey guilt” 2008 PC voters now can see the result of their vote and I believe are less likely to again be blinded this time around. Their disillusion will cause them to sit this one out.

Well Dave baby, you and your brother could have revealed 5 years ago that this twisted gay commie prick wasn’t a NBC, but no, you couldn’t do that for fear of being ostracized by the GOP assholes in Washington. He’s a fraud, he’s committed treason, he should be arrested and put on trial. But let’s all just acquiesce to this commie fag.

That's the ideological component.

The title of this article — "If You Like Obama's Failed Policies, Vote for Him" — is a bit of a misnomer. From Obama's point of view, his policies have not "failed," they have been wildly successful. He needs another four years to further consolidate them, such that it would be enormously difficult or even impossible to unwind them.

Bottom line, his policies enact the Cloward–Pivins strategy of collapsing America from within, using Saul Alinsky tactics ("The Chicago Way").

Cloward & Pivins believe that the American system can be destroyed simply by enrolling as many Americans as possible in government benefits of all kinds — welfare, food stamps, healthcare, etc., etc., thus destroying any idea of individual liberty and personal responsibility. All must become "wards of the State."

Yuval Levin, in an outstanding article in National Review (August 13, 2012), explains what's happening thusly:

Again and again, the administration has sought to hollow out the space between the individual and the state. Its approach to the private economy has involved pursuing consolidation in key industries — privileging a few major players that are to be treated essentially as public utilities [which are likely run by big campaign bundlers for the president], while locking out competition from smaller or newer firms. This both ensures the cooperation of the large players and makes the economy more manageable and orderly. And it leaves no one pursuing ends that are not the government's ends. This has been the essence of the administration's policies toward automakers, health insurers, banks, hospitals, and many others.

It is an attitude that takes the wealth-creation capacity of our economy for granted, treats the chaotic churning and endless combat of competing firms (which in fact is the source of that capacity) as a dangerous distraction from essential public goals, and considers the business world to be parasitic on society — benefiting from the infrastructure and resources provided by the genuine common action of the state. Of course, the state's benevolence is made possible precisely by the nation's wealthiest citizens, but the president seems to see that as simply an appropriate degree of "giving something back." His words and his administration's actions imply that he views the government as the only genuine tribune of public desires, and therefore seeks to harness the private economy to the purposes and goals of those in power.

The man who swore a presidential oath to uphold and defend the federal Constitution has gutted that document, has turned it inside out. We inexorably lose our liberty as American citizens in this process.

But the worse thing of all, to me, is that this man is a LIAR. He couldn't tell the truth to save his life. Every statement he makes is "upside-down" WRT truth and fact. He is a disgrace to the Office he holds, and thus our national disgrace.

Are there enough sane, reasonable, intelligent Americans out there to remove him from office?

If he gets another four years, you can kiss the America we know and love good-bye.
