In 1996, Republicans forced through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) bill, also known as welfare reform. It incentivized states to create welfare-to-work programs, trying to transition Americans from government dependency to financial solvency. But states quickly acted to poke holes in that legislation, calling the following activities work for purposes of the statute: bed rest, personal care activities, massage, exercise, journaling, motivational reading, smoking cessation, weight loss promotion, participation in parent-teacher meetings, or helping friends or family with household tasks and errands.

I think the article would have more of an impact if the author would refer to the section/page of the law.
Wow. In case you thought “work” involved some sort of movement or exertion, even “bed rest” qualifies as work. They must have put this list together will help from a lot of lazy teenagers!
Each person should research the issue until he finds something to satisfy his dogma.
My research revealed that Obama ordered a government department to violate legislation passed by Congress in 2005. That satisfied my dogma that Obama has a socialist agenda for transforming America and disrespect for the Constitution.
It may help clarify the issue by examining how the House proposes to undo what Obama did.
