Zimmerman Prosecutors In Huge Screw-Up(FL)
thesmokinggun.com ^ | 9 August, 2012 | NA

Posted on 08/10/2012 7:31:01 AM PDT by marktwain

AUGUST 9--In an embarrassing screw-up, Florida prosecutors today accidentally distributed a post-mortem photo of Trayvon Martin as well as copies of George Zimmerman’s college records, material that Florida law considers confidential and exempt from disclosure.

The documents were inadvertently included in supplemental discovery records distributed this morning by prosecutor Angela Corey’s office. The material was sent to a variety of media outlets, including TSG, that have paid fees to receive discovery provided by the government to Zimmerman’s lawyer.

The photocopied picture of Martin was one of three taken by an unnamed witness. The photo mistakenly released by Corey is a black and white copy of an image depicting the teenager lying face down on a lawn.

After distributing the picture, a Corey aide sent an e-mail to reporters noting that a “photo depicting the killing of a person” was “confidential and exempt” pursuant to state law.

Zimmerman’s Seminole State College of Florida records--61 pages in total--include his original application to the community college and his class transcripts. The documents detailed Zimmerman’s poor grades, which landed him on academic probation last year.

Zimmerman, who was studying for an associate degree in criminal justice, did not graduate last year due to a failed class. Following the February 26 shooting of the unarmed Martin, Zimmerman “was issued administrative withdrawals” for three classes in the Spring 2012 term “with no fees charged against his account.”

what they are actually hoping for is that the case will be thrown out on a technicality, and you know how upset we Americans get with technicalities letting "killers" get out of jail....

its a plan to save face for the prosecutors....its all a sham...

charges probably never should have been brought......too little evidence and no motive and no smoking gun...

the can was found in Martin's waistband....It was a magical can ...

It must have been since detectives said it was still cold.

How he could have tolerated a cold can of anything in his pants is a wonder.

And how it didn't end up in his underwear is a mystery.

Not to mention how it morphs back and forth from "ice tea" to "watermelon juice".

Oh well -- bag it and tag it.

I think the name morph is because for a long time the brand was known as Arizona Iced Tea ... then they began to make different flavors but the original name stuck.

I didn't think about the cold can in the pants . . . the cold, wet can. Yikes!

I dare you to correct those on your favorite websites on this matter and tell them that it's not "Arizona Ice Tea" that TM bought but "Arizona Watermelon Juice".

I double/triple dare you.

<>Actually, the earbuds — not headphones — were found in the grass, still attached to Trayvon’s phone.<>

How does that jibe with the police report by officer Diana Smith collecting evidence at the scene when the ME arrived who records in her report that the “headphones” were “in his pockets or on him” [page 80]:

What do you want me to say? I posted a picture of them, on the ground, and tagged #7.

Maybe Officer Smith should have written:

"The headphones, which were actually earbuds, were in his pockets or on him or on the ground near his body which was approximately 50-feet from where the shooter stated the incident occurred."

I can make out the phone with the little heart sticker on it [strange thing for a manly guy like TM to have on his phone], but I can’t really see earbuds in that picture.

Who captioned the picture??? the police or someone else?

What was actually tagged #7 — the cellphone? the headphones [earbuds]? or cellphone with headphones [earbuds] attached?

Why would his cellphone be where the assault began? If he was the one surprised and assaulted -- yes. But its final location indicates that he had it firmly tucked away on him or firmly in his hand during the beatdown.

Further the picture caption reads "TM's cellphone" [no mention of anything attached]. There is no mention in any of the reports of the cell phone with headphones [earbuds] attached, and it's hard to imagine an evidence technician disattaching them and not noting that in her report.

We are thus left with the conclusion that it was Martin who separated them from the cellphone in preparation for the beatdown. Am I correct???

I can very clearly see the earbuds still attached to ... not separated from the phone.

The location is important because in his first interview with the police George stated that he was punched at the "T", then fell and that's where all the action took place.

Later George said that he was punched at the "T" but stumbled 10 feet or so away from it before he fell and that's where all the action took place.

But lo and behold, the shooting took place 50 feet away from the "T". That's a mighty long stumble.

George, did you stumble 10 feet off the "T" or 50 feet off the "T"?

Which is it George?

And did Trayvon run, George ... like you told the police in real-time in your non-emergency call or did he merrily skip away like you told Hannity in your fund-raising interview?

And George, why didn't you call the emergency 911 line if you thought Trayvon was committing a crime?

And George, why didn't you use your tactical flashlight to defend yourself?

And George, did you drop you keyring flashlight at the "T" when you were reaching for your cellphone gun? You made too big a deal trying to explain your phone's location. Sorta like to too big a deal you made looking for street names.

Are you really that dumb George, that you couldn't remember the names of the three streets in the complex where you lived for several years and 'patrolled' daily?

And George, why were using the name ‘datniggytb’ on myspace?

George, you should have listened to Wendy Dorival when she told you that members of a neighborhood watch are not supposed to confront anyone, but only to be the eyes and ears for the police. George, you should have listened when she told you watch groups are not even supposed to make the rounds. That is the job of another kind of volunteer organization, Citizens on Patrol, whose members are selected and trained by the police and who drive the streets in a specially marked vehicle, armed only with a radio. George, you should have listened . . .

George, the jury is going to be made up of human beings, who are not going to like that you were toting a gun and ignored the dispatcher and followed Trayvon anyway. There may not be anything legally bad about that, but it shows your character. You thought you could handle the situation yourself and didn't care whether Trayvon lived or died. Your intent was to stop another criminal from getting away, even if that meant death to that criminal. You stereotyped Trayvon and assumed things that weren't true. It certainly made an ass out of you, and also made you a murderer. You wanted to set yourself up as a hero. You should have waited for the police to get there, not pursue Trayvon yourself.

You must have better eyes than I do. If the earbuds are there why aren't they listed in the caption of the picture? Instead it just says "TM's cell phone". And since the evidence tech would have been the one to take that picture, how come she lists them separately in different locations.

The location is important because in his first interview with the police George stated that he was punched at the "T", then fell and that's where all the action took place.

You mean that's where the action "started". It ended forty feet away where Martin's cell phone was.

Either way the captioner of that picture calls it just "TM's cell phone" not "TM's cell phone with earbuds attached". And the evidence tech lists them both separately -- the cell phone in one place and headphones [earbuds?] in another.

This is clearly not good for DeeDee's and Crump's and Corey's credibility. This explains why we don't have those phone records yet??? They probably don't match either.

If you have problems with the captioning of a photograph, take it up with the person who did the captioning ... not me.

Now George shimmied 40 feet down the pathway - with Trayvon on top of him? Okie dokie ...

The phone records I'd like to see are Zimmerman's. Who was he talking to prior to calling the police? And who was he talking to immediately after he killed the child?

The evidence tech lists the the Arizona brand name tea as being on top of a medical blanket. Tea!!! OMG -!!!

Why was Mark Osterman, Zimmerman's best buddy and disgraced Sanford ex-deputy, allowed on the crime scene where he was talking to witnesses?

All the mean-spirited, gossipy peripheral excuses, distractions, justifications, and victim bashing doesn't alter reality even a little bit: a 17-year-old teenager was pursued, hunted down by a wannabe cop and murdered in cold blood. The boy was guilty of nothing. Zimmerman should spend the rest of his life in prison ... at minimum.

I don't have problems with it and neither does the evidence tech who took the picture. You are the one with the problem, seeing things that aren't there and that aren't captioned as such.

Now George shimmied 40 feet down the pathway - with Trayvon on top of him? Okie dokie ...

Well clearly something happened at the T where his keys were found, right???

Who was he talking to prior to calling the police?

You mean the same police who he had spoken to 2 minutes earlier and knew were coming and who were on the scene within 30 seconds of the shot???

The evidence tech lists the the Arizona brand name tea as being on top of a medical blanket. Tea!!! OMG -!!!

Well that we all agree upon. The picture is quite clear as to what it is. But you're seeing earbuds where there aren't any.

If the earbuds weren't attached to the phone, then DeeDee lied and Crump put her up to it. As one good defense so famously quipped: "If they don't fit, you must acquit."

-- and then indict Crump for witness tampering.

Aggressively followed - absolutely but pursued might be too strong.

Murdered, yep there is no doubt that he would be alive today if Z had not initiated the entire affair by following in car and on foot. In cold blood? I don't think so.

The kid was guilty of nothing other than being a black kid who zimmerman didn't know.

Is zimmerman guilty? The law will decide and I think he will walk.

Is he responsible? Absolutely.

Will he go to prison? Likely not but his life is fully f**ked anyway. He will always be George Zimmerman, loser, punk, killer. A few here would shake his hand and buy him a beer but as for the rest of America --- he is and always will be a scumbag.

Like I said before, talk to the news media who published the photo. Actually, they made another error in their captioning: “Honda key chained to small flashlight (the light was on when found”. The key was in the truck the entire time. (That was odd behavior for paranoid Zimmerman who saw a monster lurking behind every shadow.) The flashlight was attached to the Honda key fob.

The treehouse cites an AP article saying the earbuds were found in Trayvon’s pocket. The NY Times writes they were found next to him, like Serino reported. I guess we’ll have to wait until the trail to find out.

Yeah, I think something happened at the “T”. Pure speculation on my part but I think what happened was after Martin took off running, he hid near one of the townhouses at the 'T' intersection. That explains why he told his girlfriend he thought he lost Zimmerman and why his voice was fearful and low as she put it. He soon realizes that the strange man who had been stalking him from his car was still pursuing him on foot. Zimmerman shines his flashlight on Trayvon's position, who asked something along the lines of, 'Why are you following me?' and Zimmerman responded, 'What are you doing around here?' Or Trayvon asked, “Ya got a problem, homey? (insert eyeroll here) Zimmerman, who obviously does have a problem, lies and says, “No”. And, of course, he fails to identify himself as a member of the neighborhood watch . . .

The girl's description, as well as other witnesses, say the argument started at the T and ended up about 50 feet away . . . which is backed up by evidence. So Zimmerman was less than truthful when he said he either:
a. he was punched at the “T” and immediately fell, or
b. he was punched at the “T” and either stumbled and/or pushed Trayvon about 10 feet away from the “T”.

At this point at the “T” they are face-to-face. Zimmerman, being the paranoid person he is, already convinced Martin was a criminal, panics and reaches for his gun. This is where in his story when he claims he reached for his cell phone . . . that he claims wasn't in his pants pocket like he though . . . even though he had just put it away a minute earlier. The little flashlight falls as Zimmerman reaches for his large flashlight, phone and/or gun. Trayvon notices the gun, they start to struggle for it, Trayvon punches George and runs, yelling for help. An enraged Zimmerman chases after him (he did not fall at the “T”), both guys leave a trail of belongings. Zimmerman catches up to him, tackles him, they wrestle for the gun on the ground. Zimmerman fires. There's no way Zimmerman could've unholstered with Martin straddling him or fired that shot from the position he claims.

Makes much more sense to me than Zimmerman's tall tales. Do you see the phone by Zimmerman’s right ear? We know that a neighbor called his wife after the shooting . . . who was he talking to? And who was he talking to before he called the police? Did Taaffe call him to let him know there was a suspicious guy walking thru the shortcut? Why didn’t he tell the police it was Taaffe’s house he was parked in front of? Was it Taaffee who he can be heard telling, “the keys are in the truck”? Taaffe lost his other son a few days ago . . . a DUI . . . killed his buddy too. That’s the son he threatened to cut the ba!!s off of. His daughter, Meredith, the one Taaffe hopes is killed while she’s deployed, supports the Martin family.

Going back for a minute to Zimmerman’s injuries . . . the fact that Zimmerman had some injuries does not mitigate him from being in the wrong to me one whit. I have yet to see a qualified medical expert offer an opinion on the photos of the wounds on the rear of Zimmerman’s head: both in the cell phone photo from the scene and the several photos taken at the jail. He seems to have suffered a longish but fairly shallow horizontal cut on the left rear of his head, a shorter but deeper cut/jab on the right side of his head. A couple of well-placed paper cuts will bleed as profusely. These wounds don’t strike me as anywhere near severe enough to be consistent with the ‘repeated head bashing’ claim. But I’d really like an M.D. (E.R. doc?) to look at those photos and offer a ‘diagnosis’ . . . ideally someone from somewhere else who has never heard of George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin, and could just read the wounds for what they are outside of the larger narratives. Is there a doctor in the house?

Your ilk will not be ‘satisfied’ until you can personally drive the nails through Zimmerman’s wrists and feet, to crucify him for not playing the victim in your sick liberal world. Filth you are

If that is all true, then why was TM sitting on top of GZ and putting his two hands over GZ’s mouth, as the prosecutor admitted, instead of wrestling the gun out of his hand[s]???

Well, thank you and bless your heart! Is that the “diwataman” of treehouse fame?

I took a look at his 7-11 spiel. I don’t see what it has to do with the shooting at all, but does he really think that Trayvon smoked a ‘blunt’ of the size shown while taking refuge near the mailbozes. Physically impossible!
