The media doesnt like food much these days. Papa Johns Pizza founder John Schnatter is the latest individual in the food industry to draw fire from the left; in his case the he made the mistake of discussing the economic effects of Obamacare on his company. Outlets from the Colbert Report to the Boston Globe savaged Schnatter for having the effrontery of publicly explaining basic economics.
In a conference call with shareholders last week, Schnatter (who is a Romney supporter) said:: Our best estimate is that Obamacare will cost 11 to 14 cents per pizza, or 15 to 20 cents an order from a corporate basis. He also assured listeners that, If Obamacare is in fact not repealed, we will find tactics to shallow out any Obamacare costs and core strategies to pass that cost onto consumers in order to protect our shareholders best interests.
The left had a collective screaming session over his comments. Colbert slammed the quality of Papa Johns Pizza: People will not pay another cent because when you order a Papa Johns pizza, its only after youve reached a state of such desperate gnawing hunger that youd eat the ass off a raccoon that drowned in your bird bath, and, even then, only after making absolutely sure that youre all out of drowned raccoon ass. And now Obama expects you to shell out almost three extra nickels for this hot turd pie? F*** that! Eat the nickels, you have your dignity.
Clueless liberals.
Assuming the money to pay for healthcare falls from the sky like manna.
The worst thing the US ever did was tying healthcare to employment and divorce the patient from the costs. It is destroying the country.
Send Colbert this CBO report (http://www.cbo.gov/publication/43471)
15cents added to a pizza in waaaay underestimated for the costs.
Most of us need something like it every time we hear obama talk.
P.S. I quite like Papa John's pizza. I guaran...darn...tee it tastes better than anything Michelle obama ever recommended.
I love Papa Johns..great pizza, great service. God Bless them for standing up and telling the truth about Obamacare. I will continue giving them my service
One less place to run into liberals! GOOD!
Great, now I get pizza...there goes the diet!
Sounds like we need a Papa John’s Appreciation Day event. Then we can rally watch libs heads explode. Place your orders, folks!
“Say there. I’ll have me one of them large pepperoni Pizzas of Hate. With extra cheese.”
Yep, now we have Papa J and Chick Fil-A. That’s all I can say.
There is a Papa John’s about 5 min away from me. We get a pizza once a month from them..they are so nice we get the large pizza with pepperoni and pineapple on one side and cheese on the other(For my brother) all for 7 bucks and change..pretty darn good deal
Good idea.
Anyone know a Mover and Shaker that can get this going? If Huckabee can do it, lots of other folks should be able to. Next Friday sounds good.
And everyone should pay an extra $0.15 for their pizza as well as adding $0.15 to the delivery tip!
Good point. I hadn’t even considered that’s when it became “free” in the minds of many.
Wage controls were imposed by the Fed govt during WW2.
So companies added “benefits” as a way to circumvent this restriction.
Once the link between the consumer and provider was broken, cost began to spiral, starting in the late 60s/early 70s.
The same thing happened with dentists. In the 50s, dentists had about the same economic status as a skilled trades worker. After dental insurance became common by the late 70s, Dentists (and their wives) started driving Mercedes and living in 5000sf homes.
Thanks DFG.
I’ve been meaning to give Papa John’s a try. Thanks for reminding me.
I kinda hope this develops into a something.
Conservative business owners finally stop being afraid to speak up, and in return, they get a good boost to their business.
Maybe someone slick and quiet like could sneek into the more domestic enemy of the leftardic sites where the stupid gets started before being pumped out to the mouth breeding punks of the left and let us know which businesses are on “the list” so we can counter demonstrate and pump them up with some cash.
