he United States said Friday it can see whats going on with Irans nuclear program and that it would know if Tehran is close to obtaining a nuclear weapon.
I would also say that we have eyes we have visibility into the program, and we would know if and when Iran made whats called a breakout move towards acquiring a weapon, said Jay Carney, spokesman for the White House.
Carney later said he was referring to International Atomic Energy Agency officials who are mandated to inspect Irans nuclear sites.
However, Iran has repeatedly refused to let inspectors into key nuclear sites.
Military sites in Iran that do not have confirmed nuclear activities are off-limits to inspectors, AFP noted, unless they are provided for by agreement or under the terms of an Additional Protocol to the NPT (Nuclear non-Proliferation Treaty) which Iran dropped in 2006.
Carney said Washington still believes there is time for the extremely and increasingly aggressive sanctions against Iran to work.

These guy sure talk a lot.
That’s comforting realizing he has been anti-Israel and pro Arab, and doesn’t have the slightest clue he has been.
(wink wink)
Decision by Netanyahu, Barak to strike Iran is almost final Israel TV
That is a true statement. Tel Aviv would know about any Iranian nukes first, and Washington DC would discover the unpleasant truth shortly thereafter.
I can’t post what I want to. Suffice it to say that 90% of our political problems would be solved.
No doubt, but would the tell anyone.
I don’t think they even know whether North Korea has the bomb.
Obama doesn’t know sh...er...Obamastuff.
Dumb is as Obama does.
The man is a cretin.
Harvard law is now an official joke.
The man is stupid.
The man is dumb.
Get the point???
So, how many Iranians did Carney just kill by mouthing off?
More likely than #2 hitting Washington it will detonate about 300 miles above Kansas City. The resulting EMP will destroy the electric grid and anything using modern computer chips. One bomb will literally send us back to the 18th century from a technology perspective. Unfortunately very few of us will have the survival skills of 18th century men and women. The land will not support a population of 300 million using 18th century agriculture methods. Likely more than 200 million will die in the first year.
We’d see the flashes...
And the CIA said the same thing about North Korea.
They are real good at knowing things in advance.
I give you, Pearl Harbor, the first Russian bomb, the first Indian bomb, the Chinese bomb, the Israeli bomb, the Pakistani bomb, the fall of the USSR and Berlin wall, 9/11,,,,etc.
NOTHING gets by our agencies!
Ok, in 1942 we started with little more than mathmatics on a chalkboard and the basic theoretical concept. In 3 years we detonated trinity and had two deliverable types, and used them in combat.
Im mystified by those who think it would take Iran decades.
1) They have sources of mineable uranium.
2) The plans and blueprints are universally available.
3) The physics is well understood and studied by a generation of Iranian physicists educated in the west.
4) Their oil exports easily funds any effort they make.
5) They have the advanges of modern computers, CAD/CAM, and all sorts of time compressing technology that the Manhattan Project could only dream of.
6) They have electronic and microchip control technology that didnt exist back in the day.
We actually should expect a surprise test blast on any given day.
Its clear that the world has decided they will allow Iran to have the bomb, and are only waiting for the inevitable test. They are having this farce of stopping Iran, ad it will ed the day after the test. Like with North Korea they know they will have to endure a few weeks of news stories. Then they can stop playing the stop Iran game.
Or maybe they'd know. You think they'll tell us?
The populace is not a “need to know” entity.
Bam-bam won’t do an f-ing thing to stop Iran from getting the bomb.
Yes, the mushroom clouds over DC, NY, and LA should be visible from a radius of at least 50 miles each.
The port of Los Angeles ceasing to exist would be a good indicator that they made significant progress.
Why should we believe a dang thing these dweebs say?
