Months after he clinched the Republican nomination, Mitt Romney is still struggling to win over skeptical conservatives.

And the longer he waits to name a running mate, the more time conservative activists have to try to coax him to name one of their own—such as Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan. …

Romney's latest problem with conservatives flowed from a spokeswoman's reflections this week on the benefits of the Massachusetts health care law. That Romney-proposed law remains a touchy topic, since it was a model for President Barack Obama's health care overhaul—which Romney now condemns. …

“They would just as soon let the country burn to the ground than admit their idiocy.”

That is a description of Obama voters in general.

A waste of time. Trying to reason with a ‘Mitt is worse than Obama’ freeper is kind of like trying to get your cat to fetch your mail. They would just as soon let the country burn to the ground than admit their idiocy.

You should try reasoning with those who have sold out their supposed conservative principles to back a lying, left-wing, Progressive Liberal like Mitt Romney, now there's some idiocy for you.

Then he won’t have to deal with Ryan’s austere budget plans as Ryan will be stuck in VP office.

Exactly, gets him out of the speakers hair. I said long ago if it was Cantor, it would be to get him out of the House. Unlike the Clintons, Romney will not have a Co-President.

Some of us have had a single mission since 2008, to get Obama’s ass thrown out of the WH. Who our nominee is doesn’t matter, our mission remains the same. You, on the other hand, fall into a camp that is just okay with Obama staying on for another four years. You prove it by spending considerably more time and energy trashing Mitt than you do the Marxist.

Damn, there’s an endorsement. Vote Mitt, “At least I’m an American”

Talk about Tepid. I’m sorry, I have higher standards than “is an American”.

“soon let the country burn to the ground than admit their idiocy.”

Why is it that the O-bots and the Romney supporters say the same thing? Could it be that they actually believe in the same things?

“Who our nominee is doesn’t matter”

UGH!

Damn right it matters. If you’re so careless as to nominate someone who can breathe ‘so long as he’s not Obama’, why are you surprised when conservatives check out?

Have you spent much time talking to RP people? I have this year sitting in our county and state Republican conventions. We have much in common with them, and if we don’t figure out how to work with them, we are screwed over the long term.

Attitudes like yours are how we remain “the stupid party”. There is no point in demonizing people with whom we can make common cause with on many issues.

The media sure seems to want us to want Paul Ryan. I don’t think so. I heard him say in the Tea Party early days something that really gave me pause. I don’t remember exactly but it really gave me a clear impression he was just another DC elite pol. Every once in a while these guys slip and show their true colors.

When your goal is to remove Obama from power it doesn’t matter who our nominee is. I would literally vote for a platter of dog vomit over Obama.

Since you are so conservative - what’s your position on abortion?

Me, too, but I won't vote for Romney.

If he could, I’m certain that Obama would send you a personal ‘thank you’.
