If it's Ryan the Republicans will lose big. Practically every one of the 50%+ on government transfer payments of some kind will vote against the Republican ticket.

If that is the case, the Republic is finished. We can't afford the current entitlement programs, which represent an unfunded liability of over $100 trillion. And this doesn't include welfare programs and other government handouts like food stamps (46 million.) and Medicaid (60 million plus an additional 18 million when Obamacare is fully implemented.)

If the American people can't handle the truth, then the Republic isn't worth saving. We will go the way of Greece. Let the American people have a real choice and then the chips fall where they may. As Mark Steyn wrote, the 2012 Election Is The Last Exit Ramp Before The Death Spiral

From what I am reading about Ryan’s voting record on conservative issues (both social and fiscal/spending), he is a really bright light. But I still believe he will lose many more votes than he will gain.
