It has been said on this site. Also, people who plan on voting for Romney have been called Satanist.

i suppose so ~ but in the context of a discussion where we have some claiming it’s unChristian to criticize Romney, it’s fair to make such a retort.

Unfortunately, for your position, it is a zero sum game. Either Romney will win and Obama will lose or the opposite of that. There are no other possible outcomes.

Vote for who you like but if it is not Romney then it is a plus for Obama.

Period.

Exactly. Why can't some people see that? They act like it's still Primary season! Maybe we should have some little rubber bracelets made up that are engraved with WWSD (What Would Sarah Do) and they can wear them while they watch the GOP convention. The "changing horses in midstream" scenario is no longer possible because we're well beyond the midstream point.

“But USPS didn’t run on federal tax dollars ~ they operated on the fees charged for mail services. My salary, and therefore my pension, arose out of that conjunction of need and service.”

Sorry if I’m missing something in your post about the USPS “not running on Federal $s” and your “salary & pension arose out of fees charged for mail services”, but....

“Postal Service on tap for $11B break in 2012 budget
By Ed O’Keefe

President Obama’s proposed 2012 budget doesn’t say anything about raising stamp prices, ending Saturday mail deliveries or closing post offices, but it does attempt to remedy the perilous financial condition of the U.S. Postal Service by recommending about $11 billion in relief.

With mail volume and revenues plummeting, the Postal Service is on course to lose about $7 billion in the fiscal year that ends in September. The losses are due in part to hefty personnel costs not borne by other federal agencies. One is a requirement, imposed by a 2006 law, that it set aside money each year to cover the costs of future health insurance benefits for its retired workers.”

>snip

“The Postal Service also pays into the federal retirement fund to pay the future annuity costs for its retirees. Estimates by the Office of Personnel Management suggest USPS has overpaid the fund by about $6.9 billion. Obama’s budget would refund that amount over 30 years, beginning with a $550 million payment in fiscal 2012.”

It’s interesting how the inane “jobs, jobs, jobs” talking point is 100% interchangeable between the Republican and the Democrat parties.

USPS is actually overpaid more like $79 billion. The Obama budget was rejected by the Senate and House. None of that happened.

It's entirely possible to throw this election into the House of Representatives. All it takes is a tie between the two main candidates with one guy somewhere else getting a single electoral vote. The numbers are showing the election is probably close enough to do that.

I actually have a practical plan to make that possible. Stay tuned.

Still can't get my vote ~ not even if he had Jesus running with him.

When you say stupid things like this it just reinforces the fact that are you acting like a stubborn crybaby determined to go forward with a whiny temper tantrum.

Paul Ryan is a quality hire - exceptionally competent and dynamic. This bodes well for governance.

One of Romney’s trademarks at Bain was in recruiting and cultivating talent. Two of our greatest Presidents - Ronald Reagan and George Washington - were exceptional in their ability to pick quality people for top jobs, and give them the authority and support to excel.

On the stage after Ryan’s announcement, I got the impression of Romney as a senior executive with that kind of emotional security and maturity - to manage for the long term good of the organization.

He seemed confident in Ryan, and content to let him take some limelight - almost like a proud parent.

This also shows that he is not averse to recruiting TEA Party favorites and principled conservatives for top jobs.

The potential exists for a “Dream Team” administration.

Personnel is policy, as they say in D.C.

I am so stoked!

“As it is the GOP-e made an irremediable error for which they and their running dog lackeys will continue to pay for decades!”

Unfortunately, purists in this group want all of the country to pay for decades. I don’t know — tear it down to build it up thinking? Gotta hit rock bottom with obama before building back up? I don’t understand the logic of sitting out the election and possibly letting that Marxist get a second term other than the “let the whole thing burn down” thinking.

You people don't seem to understand coalition politics. Social conservatives don't need to like you nor respect you for your peculiarities, but we do expect you to come up with candidates generally acceptable to just about all the coalition members.

This is just about 12 times you've violated coalition rules over the last 80 years.

I say enough is enough!

You've done it again, and this guy is the one candidate with a probability of actually losing to Obama, the worst President in the last two centuries!

I was for Newt and absolutely hate Romney. I vowed I would not vote for Romney, but Obama has forced my hand.
If we don’t vote Romney, we will have 4 more years of Holders brand of justice and Obamas executive orders, both of which cannot be overcome by a Republican majority in both houses.

Vote for America. It’s like doing something outside your comfort zone to save a loved one. Or would you let your most cherished love one perish because of your “standards”?

You still can't get my vote. You picked a loser ~ so he loses.

We'll be revisiting all of this the day after the election.

“Ryan is going to be hard to replace as head of the House budget committee. They better find another fiscal hawk.”

I know; but I imagine the calculation in that regard was that as far as “safe” seats to put up for election, there was more room for risk in the House than in the Senate (numbers count).

Like you, I also hope Ryan’s type of resolve on fiscal sanity has a number of “back ups” in the House ready to step up and fill the gap he will leave.
