"Throughout his life, Mitt Romney has made great decisions, and choosing Paul Ryan as his running mate is a truly inspired choice. ... Paul Ryan is a courageous reformer who understands our nation's challenges, has proposed bold policy solutions to solve them, and has shown the courage to stand up to President Obama and other Washington politicians trying to tear him down.

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla.

“I don’t know whats happened to Williams, but he’s completely, 100% back on the lib plantation.”

Juan has said that he misses his buddies at NPR.
Guess he doesn’t feel Beckel is up to his intellectual level.
Neither of those guys has ever let a fact get in the way of their ideology. It’s just one platitude after another.

I'm thrilled to see Obama's guy and DWS wheeled out the tired Democrat terms of "extreme" and "scheme." I was beginning to think they had forgotten their old keywords.

The Dems also sneaked in 'Bush's fault' for good measure.

Honestly, I don't know if this was a good choice politically. What he brings to the table is, apparently, good chemistry with Romney. That's important but not determinative.

I do not know if Paul Ryan would be experientially ready to be President. He's gifted on fiscal issues but a blank slate otherwise. He's very young, doesn't balance the ticket, spent his life focused on economics, has no military experience, scant private sector experience, no state or local experience, no foreign policy credentials, never run even a statewide campaign.

What makes HIM ready for the job?

Romney's gone all in on economics, gifted Obama with a dream target clarifying the Dem's strategy for them and chosen someone who may not be up to the top job. It's a high risk choice, maybe he'll prevail in Nov., but I'm less optimistic than ever. He may have handed Obama a landslide opportunity. This really will be Obama's election to lose and 2016 will be too late.

What I like the most about a Ryan selection, is that now every minute Obama is calling Romney a felon, a tax cheat without any source, or a time traveling Murderer, is a minute Ryan will be addressing America’s fiscal path back to prosperity. That’s BIG trouble for Obama for two reasons. Poll’s show two opinions the majority of Americans hold. 1. The Country is on the wrong track, and 2. Nobody believes they are better off now than 4 years ago.

Debbie W-S is going door-to-door to her trial lawyer friends, insisting she always secretly hated that putz, congressional staffers are burning up MSWORD server updating their resumes, DC whorehouses and caterers are cutting off lines of credit, muslims everywhere are planning for another crusade, Bill and Hillary are looking at some nice dachas on the lake and the MSM is being forced to run Zero campaign ads for free.

I grew up seeing the weinermobile in commercials around the country wishing to someday see one.
It finally happened and I was thrilled.
Once again just last year I saw one again and again I was thrilled.
And YOU can’t tell me you wouldn’t think it cool to ride around in one.
And if your friends saw you instead of feeling like a dweeb you’d be proud.
It’s Americana.

I guess I’m cynical about how the media will spin things, sorry.

Don't worry Dilbert...there will be a lot of FReepers helping the media bad-mouth Romney and Ryan.

“And YOU can’t tell me you wouldn’t think it cool to ride around in one.”

But but but what about PETA? And that Weinermobile gets what? 3 mpg ? I mean it’s 27 feet long and 11 feet high. How unpatriotic is that? Probably runs on pig grease meaning we just lost the Muslim vote.

And what about the Weinermobile’s felony record? It’s been ticketed in Arizona (for having a stolen license plate, YUMMY), Chicago (for parking), and Texas ( for speeding), destroyed a house deck in Paul Ryan’s home state of all places, caused a minor injury to a 7yr. old child, and was picketed by the Outdoor Circle in Hawaii, as it violated its billboard ordinance.

Apparently there are 15,000 others like YOU out there. About 8 years ago Oscar Meyer had a contest to let someone drive the Weiner for a whole day. They had 15,000 entries the first month. Which one of those felonies did a Hotdogger like YOU commit with the Weinermobile?

It’s a good thing there are only 8 active full-sized Weinermobiles left driving around the country. The thing is a public menace.

Just warning you; it’s gonna get ugly out there. By the time this is over the Weinermobile will take the place of the SUV as public enemy #1.

And do YOU really want “Oh I wish I were an Oscar Meyer weiner” as the campaign theme song?

By the way, if I ever see YOU wheeling one of those infernal things around, I got shotgun!

True story,
For 26 years I had a business that serviced grocery stores. Mostly Albertsons and Food Lion in southeast Florida/
I once saw an Oscar Meyers rep and talked to him about the Weinermobile and he ended up sending me a Weinermobil whistle.
When I got it I thought, wow, how cool, and for a PR move it couldn’t be beat.
My son ultimately got the whistle.
Terrible hot dogs.

My nipples haven’t been this hard since I sprayed liquid nitrogen on them.

I wish PR was heading the ticket though, but this was a great, shrewd choice by Glove.

Thank you so much for your reports from the scene!

I was planning to vote for Romney- but without much enthusiasm. This is his first BIG decision and I’m truly amazed- happily so. They seem to have a terrific rapport and I think Ryan enlivens Romney..brings out the best in him.

CT=5 primary is so ugly and disgusting it is comical to live through it.

This race has every horrifying tactic known to politics. Except for fake names on the ballot. Too late for that.
