Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is wasting no time sending his new running mate on the road on his own.
Aides say he's sending Paul Ryan to Iowa Monday for his first campaign stop as the GOP ticket's No. 2.
Ryan, a Wisconsin congressman, is scheduled to visit the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines, the same day President Barack Obama plans to begin a three-day campaign trip across the state.
Romney announced Ryan as his choice Saturday in Virginia. They plan to campaign together in North Carolina and Wisconsin Sunday...

I was with the Des Moines and Clive offices of Iowa Workforce Development from 1988 to 2000 and we facilitated all the hiring at the State Fair. One year I took a job myself, working nights at the State Fair office (pretty much the only air conditioned building on the fairgrounds, at least back then) and enjoyed it. That was the year that the food vendor was shot by his son-in-law.
Citizens of Iowa, Voters in Iowa, Kindly turnout and give Paul Ryan a massive, rousing, positive welcome in Iowa on Monday. Make the Obama visit look paltry and failing as all his recent events have been (Lightly attended). Just remember, folks, it is your magnificent country you are saving by supporting Romney/Ryan, rather then “destroy America”, Obama/Biden and their anti-American Democrat party!!!
