U.S. Olympic athlete, Mexican flag?
CNN ^ | August 11, 2012 | Ruben Navarrette Jr.

Posted on 08/12/2012 7:30:37 AM PDT by bgill

So why did Manzano carry two flags with him on his victory lap? As the world looked on, he held up both the U.S. flag and the Mexican flag. Not a good look. And not a good idea... It's about being part of a team -- the U.S. Olympic team. It's about national pride, not ego. Manzano wasn't there to compete for himself but to represent his country. All he had to do was decide which country that was... This country took you in during your hour of need. Now in your moment of glory, which country deserves your respect -- the one that offered nothing to your parents and forced them to leave or the one that took you all in and gave you the opportunity to live out your dreams?

The Mexican flag was sickening, disgusting and a slap in the face to Team USA and America. Many thought he was illegal until the last two days when the msm has been flip flopping between a US citizen or a dual citizen but nary a mention of how that came about.

It reflects his perception of America as not his country, so much as an opportunity. He is a Mexican who loves Mexico, taking advantage. Traitor, Subversive, Dork.

This couldn't have been said any better. I fear the progressive PC crowd is ooohing and sighing about how woooonderful this is....it needs to be slapped down- and slapped hard.

I've come to the conclusion Why shouldn't they!

If a country is daft enough to adopt people, for whatever reason, for ITS personal gain. I'm happy that those people show their "host" nation their true colors.

And it's not just in sport.

Think president!

Just more evidence to support the assertion that the most recent illegals have no intention of coming to the country to assimilate and become Americans. Unbelievable.

Had he been a naturalized citizen born in Ireland, carrying the Irish flag with the American flag, would we be taking as much notice? < /self-test for bigotry >

My personal answer: yes. But if the intent is to show love and respect for two countries important to the individual, let the kid slide. We’ve got waaay bigger fish to fry!

We have been too tolerant for too long of those who’s loyalty to the USA is very questionable.

Most Lie-berals, Blacks, Mexicans (what a shame for such a hard working people), SSADs (homos), feminazis, seem to have a hatred for one of the few countries which allow them to spout their hatred.

Maybe the good ole days of immigration from mainly civilized Europe was superior to our current model of preference to 3rd world types.

Alot of them come here for the benefits only. They could care less about being Americans

Yet our fool politicians keep letting them in. One day this will explode into violence
