Millionaire VP pick: Paul Ryan rich from investments, inheritance
The Los Angeles Times ^ | August 12, 2012 | By Michael Finnegan

With business investments and a family inheritance, Rep. Paul D. Ryan of Wisconsin and his wife have accumulated millions of dollars in assets and generated income last year well above his congressional salary, according to his most recent financial disclosure statement.

Mitt Romney’s newly announced running mate reported assets in the range of $2 million to $7.7 million. The largest was the interest that his wife, Janna, holds in a trust resulting from the 2010 death of her mother, Prudence Little. Her interest in the trust falls in the range of $1 million to $5 million, Ryan reported.

Ryan also reported investment income that, along with a distribution from the inheritance, supplemented his $174,000 congressional salary – somewhere between $168,000 and $1.2 million.

Members of Congress disclose their income and assets in ranges rather than precise amounts.

Interesting how the lame stream media never misses and opportunity to report how “rich” Republicans. They are very silent on the subject when it comes to dimoKKKRATS.

OK, sheeple, repeat after me:

Paul Ryan, baaaaaad! Because he married a well-to-do woman that had a modest inheritance.

John Kerry, gooood! Because he married a rich widow who had an inheritance worth a billion.

The same can be said for 90% of congress. Nancy Pelosi’s net wealth has increased some 2300% since she entered congress.

Why doesn’t the media ever attack Obama’s wealth, or Pelosi’s, or Reid’s, or Clinton’s, or Kerry’s etc. (which makes Ryan look like a pauper, btw). Their hypocrisy is mind blowing. Also, they certainly didn’t highlight Palin’s middle classness in 2008.

Dems prefer politicians who are rich through graft and corruption.

Quit falling for all of the bullshit the demonazis are throwing at you! The more they flail and flounder and whine, the more we know we’re hitting them where it hurts! I’ve learned to tune out their incessant verbal assaults a long time ago. Get behind your champion, and follow them to the end.

Good! I like a man or woman who knows how to make money work, rather than do like idiot Obama and his wife who think money means an endless vacation.

Makes you wonder how many do it for the money since you can really rake in the dough through the connections made.

Joe Biden's house (front and back) - at the time he was announced as VP four years ago. Enough said.

His Wikipeda profile has already been scrubbed to eliminate past references about growing up poor to be replaced by this:

Early life, education, and career

Ryan was born and raised in Janesville, Wisconsin, the youngest child of Elizabeth A. "Betty" (née Hutter) and Paul Murray Ryan, a lawyer.[6][7][8] He is of Irish and German ancestry,[9] and is a fourth-generation Wisconsin native.[9] His great-grandfather, Patrick William Ryan (1858–1917), founded the Ryan Incorporated Central construction business in 1884.[10][11][12] Ryan's grandfather was appointed U.S. Attorney for Western Wisconsin by then-President Calvin Coolidge.[13]

Growing up, Ryan and his family often went on hiking and skiing trips in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.[7][13] Since Ryan shares his first name with his father and to avoid confusion while growing up he went by the nickname, "P.D." (Paul Davis) but it was often mistaken for 'Petey' making Ryan dislike it.[14] Ryan was only 16 when he found his father lying in bed dead. Ryan's father, grandfather and great-grandfather all died from heart attacks at ages 55, 57 and 59 respectively, which inspired his later interest in health and exercise.[13] After his father's death, Ryan's grandmother, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease, moved in with his family and he helped care for her.[15] His father’s death provided Ryan with Social Security benefits until his 18th birthday, which he used to pay for his education at Miami University of Ohio.[16]

As a junior at Joseph A. Craig High School in Janesville, Ryan was elected class president, which made him prom king and gave him a seat on the school board—his first foray into politics.[15] He ran track his sophomore and senior years, was on his high school's varsity soccer team and played basketball in a Catholic league.[17][18][19] He was also a member of the the student council, the Latin club, the history club, the letterman's club, the outdoors club, the International Geographic Society, the pep club, the ushers club and the Model U.N.[17]

Guess what? My bother died young and left two teenage children. His social security benefits paid about enough for them to live on. My niece and nephew had to get scholarships, grants and loans to get through college. The benefits cease at age 18.

Does anyone see a problem here?

Ryan’s income outside of his congressional salary is given in this story as “between $168,000 and $1.2 million.” Nice precision reporting!

This happens not to be a super large amount, compared to income of other politicians.

We know where Ryan came from. He knew his own father.

Obama, on the other hand, was a unwanted accident. If Roe v. Wade had happened before he came along, he probably would have been aborted. Instead, they rounded up a stand-in “father,” the Kenyan Obama, who was already married, but served as a source of a name for the baby. The mother qickly took off for further grad-school work, and the little fellow was raised mainly by his grandparents. We would need to do some extensive genetic testing to tell just who his real father was.

All the top dog democrats are millionaires - but they got their money mostly from the taxpayers (pro-themselves legislation).

The media was bound to do a negative story on him. They and their socialist Dem masters are quaking in their shoes at the thought of Ryan as the Republican VP candidate. Just the thought of a Ryan-Biden debate is making them all deathly ill.
