Yesterday, Saul provided updates at the Romney campaign saw a spike in donations after Ryan was named to the GOP ticket. A tweet Saturday afternoon said that $1.2 million had been raised within four hours, with $2 million total by the end of the day.
The campaign was quick to fundraise off the seven-term Wisconsin lawmaker, who is a popular figure with the conservative base.
An email sent shortly after Romney welcomed Ryan at a campaign event in Norfolk, Va., asked supporters to Donate $15 today to help restore America's greatness and build a stronger middle class.
On Sunday, the campaign sent a fundraising pitch from Ryan telling supporters he was thrilled and deeply honored to be Romneys running mate.
The email told backers they could win a chance to meet him and Romney and encouraged them to donate before Wednesday to enter a raffle.
Democrats as well are using the Republican VP pick to fill their campaign coffers. An email from Obamas campaign yesterday said that with Ryans selection, Romney had doubled down on his commitment to take our country back to the failed policies of the past, and urged supporters to donate.
Election Day is closer than you think make a donation to fund this campaign in the time we have left, the email said.
Ryans boost to Romneys war chest comes after the GOP candidate and RNC out-raised Obama and Democrats for three straight months.
In July, the Romney campaign and RNCs joint efforts netted a a $101.2 million haul, over $27 million more than Obama campaign and Democratic National Committees (DNC) $74 million.
It was the second straight month that Romney had passed the $100 million mark, intensifying concerns on the Obama campaign that they may be outspent in the run up to election day.
“Standing up for your principles is noble. But be prepared to accept the consequences.”
And I do. But I wonder if those who are so willing to throw their lofty principles to the wind so as to support a demonstrably left of center candidate accept the consequences of THEIR actions?
It has yet to be demonstrated to me how a smiling moderate socialist with zero opposition from the gop will be better for us in the long run than the snarling radical socialist who has some opposition from the gop.
Jesus Christ is the Answer to the evils of our republic.
Of the two men who have a chance to be leaders of this republic, Romney will do a better job of it.
“Jesus Christ is the Answer to the evils of our republic.”
Amen.
We see it differently. I believe there is no long run if Obama gets four more years. At that point, principles will not matter. What will matter is having enough ammunition and supplies when the food riots start. Oh, and there is that little thing about Iran having a nuke to use on Israel.
