I don’t think that we’ve passed the event horizon. But in practical terms, sadly, I believe that The Country lacks the will to do what’s required in order to pull out.

I could see the strategic aspects of voting to gridlock Obama for 4 years IF Obamacare had been overturned (or never passed in the first place). But that didn’t happen. We know how difficult it is to overturn an entitlement once it’s allowed to take hold. Just like we’re hearing on Medicare, “people have planned their lives around receiving this benefit.” And they have a point. Breaking a promise that’s been made isn’t the right thing to do.

Because of that it’s imperative that Obamacare is overturned next year. It’s also imperative that we elect a conservative Congress who will not allow something just as bad to replace it. If Romney did not overturn it, it would be the biggest flip-flop and broken campaign promise in history at this point, so I can’t imagine he would ever think he could get away with not overturning it.

It’s also hard to believe that with a conservative Congress in place, Romney would act much differently than Clinton did. He would pass whatever they sent him. So he can be forced to be a good President even if he wouldn’t naturally be one.

OTOH, if Romney and the Repubs govern as RINOs, it will simply set up the second coming of Democrats who will pass even more far-left policy than Obama has. So it’s a gamble. But the danger of Obamacare taking hold simply outweighs the risk on the other side. That is guaranteed disaster for our country vs. a chance of disaster. Even if we all do is delay inevitable disaster, that’s worth it to give our elderly 4 less years of facing death panel-style socialized medicine rationing.

Well it looks like conservatives have no choice but vote for Romney because Sarah said so. Apparently the gop-e took her to the shed and straightened her out. How dare she really stand up for true conservatives value, instead of selling out. They got her in line. So guys, it's time for us who don't believe Romney is a conservative, to put our brains aside, put our values aside, we definitely shouldn't read our bible anymore (all that talk about murdering the innocent and homosexuality being a sin might make us feel guilty about voting for Romney) and we should do as we're told. Think about how much the gop leadership did for us. Remember when John Banner cried and how they stood so strong the the debt ceiling. They are being bipartisan after all. They just want to stop the fighting and if we give the dems what they want (become more like them) the fighting will end. (hopefully they won't more further left or we will have to also) It's time to get the yard signs up, send in money and go door to door. We must be good little republicans. After all, Ryan will make such a difference going to all those funerals. Just call me Linda Frances Stepford.

It looks like its hopeless and we are cornered. Wait, there is a window, remember, when God closes a door, He opens a window. We could vote third party, or write in someone and vote conservative the rest of the ticket.

these changed positions all seemed to occur around the exact time he decided to run for president, when he was near 60-years old. I don’t think one has to be an incredible cynic to cast a doubtful eye.

Maybe his evolution to self-actualization led him down the conservative trail. “If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.” ~ Winston Churchill.

Romney clearly has a brain. I'm willing to believe he had innate conservative tendencies which strengthened as he aged (particularly in light of Paul Ryan as his VP choice). The two of them seem to have similar abilities and thinking styles and will make a capable economic team.

Well, I hope you are right. I’ve been burned too many times by these GOP-e types (especially after the way they sided with the liberal media scum to trash Palin). I just don’t think I have a smidgeon of faith or trust left in me, when it comes to these guys.
