Chris Christie, the sometimes abrasive but always entertaining governor of New Jersey, is set to be announced Tuesday as the keynote speaker for the Republicans' national convention later this month.

The scheduling decision was first reported online by USA Today early Tuesday and confirmed by Republican officials directly involved in convention planning. The Republican officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because the formal announcement was not planned until later Tuesday.

Sarah’s still being treated more as a ‘threat’ than anything else. Can you imagine what the reaction would be from the ‘people’ on the floor if she were to give a keynote? They know they would have an unquestionably hard time duplicating that on closing night! In a way, I don’t blame them from avoiding having Romney being upstaged!

Exactly. It’s like walking a tightrope when you have the whole country watching. You want to strike the right note to get rid of the ursurper. Similar to the Laffer Curve in a way: find the point where we get maximal return.

If we have a good Congress, plus a president who will not walk around it or veto it, we’re all set.

I wish more people would get this message. When it’s time to get someone off the stage, you don’t worry about whether the hook was made with organic steel.

he's the best possible pick.

We'll see.

If you must have him, have him on live video.
where only his face is seen.

He may say the right words,

but he looks like a
gluttonous,
out of control,
undisciplined,
slipshod twit.

56% depends on what poll you look at. I live in NJ and there are some polls that have had him as low as 38% and a high as 60%.

so I think it probably likely he’s somewhere right in the middle 45-50%. Which means a split like usual in this country.

He is nothing to write home about.

He’s a muslim brotherhood loving buffoon. Any man who attacks conservatives as “crazy” for daring to criticize his ties to radical islamists, is not a conservative of any stripe and has no business identifying himself as a Republican.

If every conservative treated the left as the joke they are, the way Christie does it, we’d never lose an election.

Worth reposting.

Not the most entertaining convention line up to be sure. It plays in the Democrat talking points. Democrats will have tokens from every checkbox constituency known and someone unknown.

We can thank RuPaul for giving us the joys of Willard the Hapless Candidate. If Ru Ru didn’t act as his wingman during the primaries, with baseless attack after baseless attack on the Conservatives, we would be sitting a whole lot prettier now. Odds are, Santorum would have won. (I was a Gingrich guy, but I have nothing but respect for Santorum.)

I can barely put into words how much I despise Ron Paul. If anyone has torpedoed this election, it would be this Jew hating piece of garbage.

Sarah Palin was very complimentary to Mitt Romney tonight on Greta’s show on FOX.

No, she was complimentary to Ryan. There’s a big difference.

She was complimentary to both of them. She also slammed Biden and the Kenyan pretty good.

You should see the paulbots on Facebook. What a freaky bunch. I voted for Paul in the primary since it was all but over at that point, but his extremist cultists are insane.

“Krispie Kreme Christie alert! The keynote should have gone to Rand Paul or Jim DeMint, also known as real Republicans.”

Who are also real conservatives! Instead we’ll have Governor Crisco telling us the Republican tent is inclusive enough for gays & muzzies. Heck, he’s already a walking mosque!

For all the doubters about Christie, stop whining and complaining that he isn’t “conservative-enough”. He is governor of a deep blue state with a few of us conservatives to keep it sane.

While I don't really care for him, I do see your point. He would be like Ronald Reagan compared to what we have to put up with here in the People's Democratic Socialist Republic of Illinois.
