Accreditation warning given to Penn State on child abuse scandal; officials express confidence
Fox News ^ | August 14, 2012

An accrediting organization has told Penn State that its status is "in jeopardy" based on recent developments in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal.

[Snip]

The commission said in an Aug. 8 notice that Penn State remains accredited while "on warning" but it wants a monitoring report submitted by the end of next month detailing steps taken to ensure full compliance with governmental requirements, that the university's mission is being carried out, that the commission will be fully informed and that Penn State is complying with standards on leadership and governance as well as integrity.

The commission also wants the report to address the university's ability to bear financial obligations stemming from "the investigation and related settlements, etc."

Their accreditation standard? This is nuts. What is the connection?

And yet their disgraced ex-president gets a double secret job at Homeland Security. They must have a pedophile division at DHS. Probably—because DHS has been outed as a perversion outfit recently.

The State Penn needs to fire the Noted Wife Swapping Studies Scholar and former prezzy, Spanier.

That is my reaction. What connection to their accreditation standing is there?

According to the article they are looking at governance, integrity, and finances.

This issue is beyond the athletics department since the president’s office and police didn’t take action to protect the children.

Depending on financial settlements, are academics going to be at risk? It’s a fair question.

Revoked accreditation keeps the institution’s students from getting federal financial aid and many established scholarship funds and grant programs. Most graduate programs require that the bachelor’s come from an accredited institution. The school is also suspended from NCAA activities.

IMHO...not sure why Penn state is even in business still....at the very least their entire board needs flushing.

From the Middle States Commission:

Most Recent Commission Action:

August 6, 2012: To warn the institution that its accreditation is in jeopardy based on information contained in the institutionally commissioned Report of the Special Investigative Counsel (Freeh, Sporkin & Sullivan, LLP, July 12, 2012) and the Binding Consent Decree Imposed by the National Collegiate Athletic Association and Accepted by the Pennsylvania State University (July 23, 2013) and insufficient evidence that the institution is currently in compliance with the Requirements of Affiliation 5 (compliance with all applicable government policies, regulations, and requirements) and 9 (institution's governing body responsibility for the quality and integrity of the institution, for ensuring that the institution's mission is being carried out, and for making freely available to the Commission accurate, fair, and complete information on all aspects of the institution and its operations) and with Standard 4 (Leadership and Governance) and Standard 6 (Integrity). To note that the institution remains accredited while on warning.

Perhaps ex-President Spannier (sp?) is going to head the new pedophile division of Janet Napolitano’s DHS. Grope ‘em and fondle ‘em while you got ‘em boys!

This whole PSU pedophile scandal does not stop with just a few gay randy boys. There has to be a pedophile network of highly placed folks in and around Happy Valley that Sandusky was a part of with his “abused kids” organization.

They want money like the NCAA got. Of course, any money they do get from Penn State will have to be handled under the table because accreditation is such a fair and upstanding process. A few years ago here in Wake County(Raleigh), when the control of the school board was won by Republicans, they kept their promise to quit busing kids all over the county and keep it local. As soon as the board started to implement this, the accreditation company stepped in (at the request of the local Democratic party and NAACP), and warned the school board that they could loose their accreditation...

I heard on the radio this morning that a new witness has come forward saying that he saw Sandusky and a "prominent booster" basically raping a child on a private jet.

The unidentified witness has admitted that he is one of many that failed to do the right thing. He reportedly has baggage but can supposedly easily prove a link to the "prominent booster" he is accusing.

According to the radio story, the FBI is investigating a possible "pedophile ring" operating out of Penn State.

The dude could quite possibly be lying, I don't know. I only know what they were discussing on the radio this morning. But I think there might be more to the story coming out.

Here is the link to the "radaronline" story that the radio hosts were referencing. Might already have its own thread by now.

I hate Penn sTATe football. I despise Sandusky and anyone who may have covered for him. I still can’t believe Paterno was complicit.

But at some point the world has to wake up to the fact that this was the act of one sick individual and perhaps some oficials who didn’t act properly and in conformance with the law.

Taking away their accreditation is more than assigning guilt by association, it is punishment by association and it is ridiculous.

The Penn State whitewash investigation of Michael Mann's role in the Climategate e-mail scandal and other Global Warming related controversies remains a potential liability for Penn State and its accreditation.

Prediction:

After 25 more years of mainstream homosexual activism being accepted and espoused in this country, most people in the future will wonder if Sandusky did anything wrong.

Interesting to look at the Big 10 (now 12) standings and see that two teams in one division are already ineligible for the bowls. Ohio State and Penn State will both be home for the holidays because of judgements against them.

This is, supposedly, a conference that prides itself on its integrity yet two of their marquee programs are serving sentences in the NCAA penalty box.
