(AP) WASHINGTON - A man suspected of shooting and wounding a security guard in the lobby of a Christian lobbying group had been volunteering at a community center for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

A law enforcement official has identified the suspect arrested in Wednesday's shooting as Floyd Corkins II of Herndon, Va. Investigators were interviewing his neighbors.

"At the Washington headquarters, of a right wing hate group, once visited by former President George W. Bush (R), a far right neo-nazi standing guard hurled inflammatory hate speech with an impoverished, 1/32 Native American, LGBT rights leader. During the encounter, the guard forced his rapid fire assault pistol into the volunteer's hands causing it to fire several times at the guard.

An FBI official who requested anonymity because he is unauthorized to speak about the on going investigation indicated the assault pistol and high capacity clips were purchased at a gun show by using the so called "gun show loophole," favored by Tea Party, which allows violent felons to purchase deadly weapons.

Unnamed sources familiar with the "Family Research Council" indicated the group was linked with a eugenics program designed to create a master Christian race.
