Devo to unleash song about Mitt Romney's dog

Don't Roof Rack Me, Bro! mocks the Republican presidential candidate by documenting the time he strapped the family dog to his car roof during a 12-hour road trip in the 80s.

Devo's next song is about Mitt Romney's dog. The American new wave band are putting an Irish setter front and centre on Don't Roof Rack Me, Bro! (Remember Seamus), which takes fire at the Republican presidential candidate.

Twenty-nine years ago Romney took his family on a 12-hour road trip from Boston to Ontario, strapping the family dog to a kennel on their car roof. As the Chevrolet station wagon barrelled down the highway, Seamus clung on for dear life; even after the dog suffered a diarrhoea attack, Romney just sprayed everything down and continued with the journey.

I assume Devo making a song about actually eating a dog is off limits?

THIS is all they've got?

Romney's not my guy, but seriously? I bet the dog actually liked it: he could see out and was in the wind. I've seen many dogs stick their heads out the window.

And what was the leader of the "Choom Gang" doing twenty-nine years ago?

I'm sure he preferred it to being eaten.

Devo is just looking for an opportunity to remain relevant in a world where they are no longer relevant.

I will never get this faux controversy. My neighbor had a similar roof cage, and when they went on a trip the dog would climb onto the roof of their car, and whimper until they let him in. He LOVED that thing.

Devo have ALWAYS hated Republicans, especially Reagan since the early 80’s.

They made an impromptu benefit concert for Nohbama in 2008 and their recorded live concerts had a graphic showing Reagan as ‘evil”. It doesn’t surprise me these old, fat toads would do something like this.

These dogs don’t know what’s best for them. They are being agitated by professional canine organizers.

Yeah ... along the lines of Devo, Ian Anderson’s great band should re-release “Bungle in the Jungle” ... but that would probably be considered racist by the perpetually-offended.
