White House says Obama will stick with Biden as running mate (It's Slow Joe over Thunder Thighs!)
The Hill ^ | 08/16/12 | Amie Parnes

President Obama has no intention of getting rid of Vice President Biden as his running mate, the White House said Thursday.

Republicans are being “ridiculous” and are trying to “distract attention” with their focus on Vice President Biden and his controversial comments earlier this week, White House press secretary Jay Carney said.

“They know that what they're saying about this is ridiculous," Carney said at a briefing with reporters, adding that it's an “obvious” attempt to take attention away from policy issues.

Hillary only wants the top job. She will resign early into a second Obama term to prepare.

I agree. If offered the VP spot, I think she'd refuse it, not wanting a failed run on her record. And, when the run does fail, she'll find herself back in the private sector with four years to gear up to challenge Mitt in 2016. But, in the unlikely event there is a second Regime, she'll do as you say: resign and gear up to take the open seat in 2016.

For a fun read on Hillary and Bill, check out Ed Klein's recent book, The Amateur. From the prolog, entitled "As Bill Sees It, Chappaqua, New York, August 2011":

“Your poll numbers are all positive,” Bill said, pacing the floor. “African-Americans are moving away from Obama and in your direction. Latinos, too. And Jews. Women and the elderly are all on your side. Young college boys are the only ones clinging to Obama. It’s a no-brainer. You can win if you want back in the White House as much as I do.”

A cloud passed over Hillary’s face. “Is it going to get out that you did this poll?” she asked.

“IIRC you have to be qualified to be president to run for VP. Willie Clinton already had the maximum terms.”

The occupier is not constitutionally qualified, what makes you think he would not choose an equally unqualified VP.
Laws are for the little people.

Apologies to all the fence posts out there.

Okay, Clinton is not eligible to become President. So . . . what exactly is your point? How does *that* change things? If Obama wants Bill as VP he will appoint him anyway. Would not change a single Democrat’s vote, and plenty of disengaged intependents might just vote for Obama because they remember the good times when Mr. Bill was President.

"Just their addressing the issue is an acknowledgment that they know they have a serious problem."

Yep. Just forcing the response is a major breakthrough. The WH/Obama campaign have now openly acknowledged that Obama's choice of VP needs to be defended.

If the parties were reversed, tonight's newscasts and tomorrow's papers would be using the phrase, "embattled Vice President."

Who in the media would you expect to protest an act like this?
We are way beyond a constitutional republic.

Hey, c'mon, Joe's been doing some serious training for that debate.

I loved it when the Republicans started begging The Disaster to remove Plugs from the ticket. Great pre-emptive shot.

Now he has to stay and drag down The Disaster even more with he constant bone-headed comments.

Hillary the Hideous probably can’t even do the heavy-lifting of campaigning any more even if she could find some weight-lifters to carry her around in a Sedan chair.

So unless Joe gets his foot fatally stuck in his mouth he is it.

That Horse has left the barn and is now too far down the road to be caught. That is one gift from The Disaster which isn’t completely destructive of our nation.
