34 dead union strikers, is that the best they could do? Guess it’s a good start.

IS not HAS BECOME.
I had an ancestor stop over in that place in 1610 or thereabouts. His log of his trip says it was quite nasty even then.

Leave it to Mandela’s South African Communists to show the world how to deal with pesky unions.

Mr Clinton famously credited Nelson Mandela with saving his marriage by counselling him through the Monica Lewinsky scandal
July 2012 - .....[with his daughter] "Mr Clinton is in South Africa as part of an African tour that takes in Mozambique, Rwanda, and Uganda, to inspect the health and social projects his eponymous foundation has helped to fund."...... Source

Large body of armed rioters distracted the police line in front. Small detachment of spearmen (with at least one pistol)snuck around and flanked the police.

If the flanking element had succeeded in initiating a melee, the main body could (and probably would) have closed in and joined.
The beleaguered police would have found themselves in a swirling hand to hand combat, and wishing they had bayonets on their rifles.

There’s an argument for semi-auto rifles with full capacity magazines if I ever saw one.
The Washing of the Spears is a very interesting book about the Zulu wars, BTW.

Not really. The old boss was smart enough to know that you don't attract workers from all across Africa by killing them. The old South Africa, though saddled by apartheid, was still the economic powerhouse of the continent. Communists, such as Nelson Mandela, and other leftist kooks throughout the region have replaced one racial apartheid with another both racial and political and destroyed productive economies. The new leftist tribalists (including Barack Obama) are the political equivalent of HIV.

The socialist dreamers always assume they’ll be the ones with the guns, which is why they want to disarm everyone else.

***South African police opened fire on Thursday against thousands of striking miners armed with machetes and sticks***
Sticks? Those look like knobkierries specificaly designed for knocking people in the head to kill them.

Also, it used to be illegal to carry a stick in SA as it was a tool for fighting.

I read it! Excellent book. Mentions the first attempt at gun registration and confiscation in SA back in the 1880s.

"Also, it used to be illegal to carry a stick in SA as it was a tool for fighting." They ought to order shoot-on-sight orders for anybody carrying a vuvuzela.

They have this saying in South Africa: “Wait till Mandela dies”. It’s mumbled under the breath by resentful blacks towards whites every day.
Supposedly that will be the symbol for the final ethnic cleansing to begin.
