that Romney “reached across the aisle” to the Democrats in Massachusetts, and that’s what we need now. If Ryan thinks that’s what we need, or that’s what conservatives want to hear, he needs to wake up FAST.

Like it or not, people always want to hear that. So Ryan is going throw out sound bites that might sway persuadable voters. A large majority of Americans say they want A) politicians with principle, and B) politicians that want to work together and get along. Unfortunately, both things can't happen. It's sort of like the majority of voters want A) less spending, and B) no actual spending cuts to almost any program. The two just don't go together, but that is what the public says it wants when polled.

So Ryan has to say he and Romney want to work together with the opposition. I suppose everyone does if the opposition is willing to agree with you, so that's not a lie. I don't think either one of them is as foolish as GW Bush was when it comes to this "kumbaya, lets reach across the aisle crap". R/R know the score and these sorts of statements are just for public consumption.

It’s(The Villages) a great place. We have several friends that live there. It’s located at the end of the
Fla. Turnpike near I-75 in North Central Fla. Lots of lakes, golf courses, shopping, restaurants, everyone uses golf carts to get around in,a really cool place.

Thanks. I hope that Obama is forced to describe and explain the duties of IPAB, especially the part about Congressional control. It will take a two-thirds vote of Congress to overrule their decisions—a high bar that effectively gives the “Death Panel” total control and autonomy.

There’s no need to get emotional. I just said I like Ryan, but I’m not so much of a blind fan that I’m going to plug my ears when he misspeaks. Yes, I believe he’s the real deal, but he’s working for Romney, and he has to toe HIS line, which is regrettable.

Ryan doesn’t seem to have the spark...

I watched the entire thing...and I heartily disagree with you.

The characteristic that most motivates me about Ryan is that he CLEARLY enlightens the minds of voters. People like him and they UNDERSTAND what he says. This is good. It is very good.

The TRUTH sparkles! ;-)

If its a slaughter like we hope there will be no need to even discuss reaching across the aisle.

Jump on the real change train or get the hell out of the way.

I don’t see ozero explaining anything, must take up too much room in the prompter. He won’t even do a press conference. You gotta wonder if anyone besides Romney has noticed that he does not have any time for governing(not that Valerie would let him anyway) anymore since he has to do so much fund raising and pathetic speeches.

Wake up and smell reality. The country is not all conservative, it is not all liberal. This is a DEMOCRACY and not a dictatorship by either party.

Remember, this is not a red America or Blue America. It is UNITED states of America. Together we stand, divided we fall.

Our nation’s government was built on compromise. If people don’t like that....they simply don’t like history. Just go back and read Madison’s notes from the Constitutional Convention.

As for a reformation of our culture...WE the People are responsible for that. AND, we cannot do that without God’s help. Only with a wise and moral culture can we have a wise and moral government.

"Where did his advance team dig up these corpses?"......"That mummy with the Palm Springs hat and flag shirt....he could not raise his hand"........"Get some supporters who show they are alive for better visuals".

You understand neither politics or the human condition....all stratas of it.

Ryan was speaking to an audience of the elderly in a retirement community. Literally, millions more elderly were watching his speech via TV and the internet streams. Many are not able to raise their arms nor their hands due to arthritis and other disabilities. Yet their enthusiasm for Ryan's speech was palpable.

The "mummies" and "corpses" you allude to in your snarky comments will be your condition and those of your loved ones some day. I hope you'll still be able to raise your arm for America. If not, you will be no less a human being as you seem to think these old folks are.

God Bless America....and God Bless Paul Ryan!

A good speech pressing ALL the right buttons.

Leni

Exactly. It’s the Chicago Way.

Absolutely true! I don’t think the country could withstand another four years with the commies in control.
