Great question.

Here is some info. I'll continuer to look.

I was referring to the change in policy (obamacare) that will discourage not only career choices, but decisions to set up business in the US.

Hubby had neck surgery a couple of years ago by one of the great spine surgeons in Los Angeles. He spent the night in the hospital the day before surgery and I got up bright and early and went down there since they never gave us a time.
The surgeon was there at 6 am and started doing surgeries. They finally started on hubby about 8 pm if I remember right. I definitely remember the doc waking me up at midnight to tell me that he was done and okay. Doc laughed when I said......darn, aren’t you tired? He said....this was a short day. He does surgeries twice a week and those are typical surgery days.

Right on, brother! The law of unintended consequences is being writ large over the land with the “policies” of Obama. I am still “astounded” that some 45% of “Americans” - and I use that term very loosely in this context - support the Affirmative Action usurper and his skank Affirmative Action wife who squat in OUR White House.

remember that in many cases, his assistants opened and closed and this guy has been supervising roomfuls of assistants and doing only some of the trickier surgeries. t

Most scheduled elective surgeries are like this...at least in my neck of the woods

This guy does all his own surgeries. He had another doc he was trying to train but after surgery told us....these new kids don’t have a clue.

You know, I totally understand. I think Obama is evil and I cannot imagine how awful it would be to be a doctor under ObamaCare.

Regardless, however - ‘making a point’ by quitting will not register on Obama. How do you know he doesn’t hope that happens, so he can get his minions in there?

Second, medical care is not really about Obama, is it? It is about the patients. “Showing him” will be satisfying in the short run, but who does it really hurt? — the patients, who also suffer under Obama but now have, who? The same immigrants who do computer-fix phone calls? Third-world doctors who flock in, and Obama does an executive order and, voila, they are running hospitals?

My dream - that doctors who care about their profession, who care about their patients, figure out some way to have their own practices without being tangled up in ObamaCare, so that patients can have good care. Would this be stepping outside the insurance tangle altogether? Having small private practices like there used to be? I don’t know.

I know, as a teacher, that I have been able to step outside the state-run schools by homeschooling and now by working with kids one-on-one, where I can teach them the Constitution, teach them our country’s wonderful history, etc. without having to bend to the union’s junk. I imagine that many good teachers within the union schools also teach what they believe.

I sincerely hope that doctors, too, will be able to proactively deal with this evil without ‘showing Obama’ that they don’t like him. I don’t think the fruits of that act will be bountiful.

What I wished for during the Cramming of ObamaCare down our Throats, and what would really really help during this election, would be for all the doctors who hate ObamaCare and foresee the destruction of our first-class medical system to speak out. Is there not an alternate group to the AMA? Some conservative group with good speakers who would take the time out to educate the public? Surely citizens will listen. We love our doctors.

The silence from doctors who opposed ObamaCare as it came through the House and Senate was, frankly, deafening. I knew the AMA did not represent all doctors, but they were the only voice I heard. I saw nothing at my doctor’s office; I read nothing from doctors in the blogs, on the Internet; I saw no ads, no billboards, no bumperstickers, no articles in the papers decrying what was happening.

It would have been really easy to assume that the medical profession all supported OC, and I imagine a great many voters assumed that.

I think my remarks should have contained a more complete explaination. Not all physicians will get out. Only those who are in a position to retire will get out. People who are near retirement, who have the means to support themselves and their families will ‘take the opportunity’ to exit. Many of us would have liked to continue for a ‘few more years’ will simply get out earlier. I do not think a physician crisis will ensue.

That makes sense, of course. At the same time, my son’s mother-in-law is a doctor in private practice and talks about getting out. She is ~50. Others must be considering this.

It would be really terrific, though, to hear from doctors who did not like ObamaCare, so the public could see through the fog from DC. Is there not a conservative group of doctors, a spokesman, someone who could speak to the public?
