The prices that Americans pay for gas at the pump may reach an all-time high this summer. The average price is $3.70 per gallon, which is an increase of 30 cents since July and the climb in price from July to August was 9 percent. The increase is particularly concerning because a reduction in global demand, caused by a persistent world-wide recession, has kept demand for gas relatively low. Some have predicted that the price of gas will reach $3.90 per gallon before Labor Day. Gas prices have risen each month for seven straight months this year.
Obama is definitely following that strategy. When Obama is long out of office some mainstream historian—not crippled by political correctness—will connect the dots, see the big picture and think he has discovered something startling.
We had 19 ¢/gal at “U-Pump Ethyl” in Columbia, MO around 1970. Sure did help a poor starving college student get by.
“U-Pump Ethyl” was my ALL-TIME favorite gas station name. First self-service station I ever used.

12 gallons of non oxy premium for my boat cost me 50 bucks yesterday... I agree. FUBO!
I get 2.75 miles to the gallon with my bass boat (30 gallon main and 10 gallon aux.), hard not to do a little cussing every fishing trip.
And when the fish ain't biting, a lot of cussing, LOL.
I have a ‘96 Suburban with a 42 gallon tank. Most pumps
stop at $100. Then I have to start over to get a full tank.
Last fillup cost $175. It’s painful.
I’ve got a 2004 Johnson 4 stoke/EFI 70HP that an insurance company pulled up from the bottom of the lake (along with the boat) and sold for salvage. Best damn 250 bucks I ever spent (boat, motor and trailer darn portable gas tank floated off though. didn’t get that or the plug.. Gee.. I wonder why it sank?)
Obviously I dried both out.
thankfully 12 gallons will last me all weekend, but still.. 10 years ago 91 octane non-oxy was a buck 80 or less in most places. Last I looked at the pump (I don’t really want to look any more) it was 4.29.
It's a prime mover in insuring that BO gets the boot in November.
