WASHINGTON - The U.S. Department of Transportation says Georgia has $11 million in federal funding to spend on road and rail projects, but the money must be used by the end of the year.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the money announced Friday is part of $473 million nationwide being freed up by President Barack Obama.

Obama announced similar money for a bridge in Oregon. Just buying votes.
can’t buy many votes with odd lots like that
Wonder if it has any correlation to the eligibility law suit filed a while back. The one that just disappeared. Hmmmmm!!!!!!!
Fire the governor immediately. What a dumb idiot to take money in earmarks. No more earmarks. I think anyone who does should be impeached.
What state are you from? Good stay there.
This money was budgeted from 2003 to 2006 but never spent. $11 million out of $473 Million is bupkis. Most other states will share in the money. I’m sure your state will be accepting their share. Go impeach your own governor. This is not breaking the new earmark agreement.
Nathan Deal our conservative GOP governor is not going to be bought out for $11 million. He’s one of the few elected officials who had the ba@@s to formally in writing ask Barry Soetoro to produce a copy of his birth certificate. He caught major chit for it. We aren’t going to fire him. Sorry.
nap’s is in Maryland. ‘Nuff said.
“naps is in Maryland. Nuff said.”
I rest my case. LOL!
Money dump in places where Democrat voters are in the majority. Plus, a lot of road jobs are at union pay rates so the unions get some more dues to send to the Democrats. As the money has to be spent fast, don’t expect quality work, the concrete will be put down rain or shine and crack later.
I’m not even sure where to go with this one.
That’ll last about 6 hours.
Amazing what Øbøzø can pull out of his arse.
