TAMPA — They've painted their posters and planned their marches.
Now the question is, where are the 15,000 protesters expected to come and shake their fists at the Republican National Convention next week going to stay?

Closest to the action is Romneyville, a hive of mostly pink tents set up behind the Army Navy Surplus Market on N Tampa Street. Bruce Wright, who runs the site under the flag of the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign, said he expects the 30-person camp to grow to up to 300 people when the convention arrives.
It'll be a convenient place to get to, but there's a trade-off.
Right now there's just one place to shower, behind a blue plastic tarp against the wall of the store. There's a makeshift kitchen against a fence, with a coffeemaker plugged into a long extension cord. The Romneyville tenants gather around it for meetings, sitting in plastic chairs wedged in the dirt and mulch.
When it rains, it floods. And then the mosquitoes come. And then, the heat.
...There's one portable toilet, though Wright plans to have more brought in for the convention.
A few miles away is the Occupy Tampa site, at the Voice of Freedom Park in West Tampa, owned by strip club proprietor Joe Redner.
......While some protesters say they're still negotiating with local churches about sleeping arrangements, none of the churches in or around downtown Tampa that were contacted by the Tampa Bay Times said they planned to host protesters.....

I just had an image of the garbage trucks in force with dumpsters full of protesters being picked up and loaded, from the movie “Soylent Green”.
This says a lot. How many conservative protesters at the Dem convention will be looking for vacant homes to squat in?
How do these people get away with such antics? If I were to get 30 people together and go camp in a highly visible area (pink tents yet!) without permission of the property owner, proper use of the zoned property, proper sanitation, and the permits required for such a gathering I’d be looking at budget busting fines and possibly jail time.
I know of unfortunate people who have lived this way, in densly wooded unimproved areas of a city, but they would sneak around, move their tent all the time, keep a very low profile and were in constant fear of robbery and worse. Also, the police did constant sweeps and locked up just about anyone they could for things like drugs, public drunk, loitering, etc. I just don’t understand how a groups like this and Occupy get away with it. How is it that they are above the law?
I was thinking the EXACT same thing except it will unfortunately be that way for many, many Americans!!! Every voter should be required to visit a 3rd world/socialist country and see first hand how that system works.... I was already a conservative but it cemented my views!
Believe it or not there’s a fairly decent chance there’s a hurricane near or over Florida during the RNC.
Where is the Freetard tent city? You know, all the Freepers who plan to po’test R-R and force the big bad RNC to pick another candidate at the convention. Can’t wait to see those guys on tv...
I suspect the use of EBT cards will skyrocket in the Tampa area.
