Catholic Illinois Governor Pat Quinn took time out recently to do some Islamic praying on Ramadan.

If he recited the Shahada (لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله (lā ʾilāha ʾillà l-Lāh, Muḥammadun rasūlu l-Lāh) (in Arabic) There is no god but God, Muhammad is the messenger of God. (in English) he is no longer a Christian much less a Catholic. I believe that is the only way any self respecting mosque would allow him to participate in prayer.

As Quinn's relatives back in Eire might say, "Fikkin' eejit!".

I just wonder if he would be saying Jewish prayers...during Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur...after all these are Muslims and easily offended by saying a Jewish prayer...

I can’t remember who the journalists were who were captured and held captive by Muslims several years ago and forced to “convert” to Islam—but their captors likely explained how they would henceforth be subject to the death penalty for any appearance of apostasy from Islam on their part. I recall listening very carefully following their release to see if they’d renounce their “conversion” but nary a word was heard.
