Todd Akin's Sinking Ship (inside info -- the real reason he MUST GO)
wall street journal ^ | 8-2012 | (comments by DFU)

THE ARTICLE

COMMENTS: Here is the real problem. My own investigation reveals the following:

1 - one night he was drunk and partying with young women; he drove off a bridge, ran away like a coward, did not get help for 8 hours, and let the young woman die in an air pocket in 6 feet of water

2 - at a conference, he brutally bit and raped a nursing home operator and told her to put ice on it

3 - in his office, he assaulted a woman pleading for a job whose husband had just died

4 - on Easter Sunday, he showed off his Bible for photo ops in the morning, then got a BJ from an intern in his office right after church

5 - he exposed himself to a woman brought to his hotel room by troopers and told her to kiss it

6 - he gave government jobs in exchange for sex

7 - he had thugs slash a woman's tires, kill her cat, and threaten the lives of her children if she testified in a sexual harassment case

8 - he and his brother had sex and cocaine parties with underage girls

9 - behind the scenes, his evil satanic wife threatened women who might come forward and cause him grief

Amazing you a wax on about his poor definitions of rape and pregnancy and abortion thereof

In a culture that tolerates baby murder...and rape and manslaughter from the highest elected officials of the Democrat party

Yet we allow those very folks to determine the sins of our own?

Today many freepers are nuts....this is ridiculous

The left understands power.....we understand jack...

The left will always define us as long as we allow them

'If Akin had kept his mouth shut, there wouldn’t have been a problem.'

Palin often says, despite the press, she's not going to keep sit back and her mouth shut.

OK. Which would you choose: a) a smart, socially-adept RINO or b) a stupid, boorish conservative. Now, before you choose, let me say that I would want c) over and above either of the aforementioned, that is to say, a smart, socially-adept conservative, i.e., someone like a Paul Ryan or a Ronald Reagan. But if the choice is only between a) and b), what do you do? That is the problem here. Todd Akin is b), and there is no changing that, he is “stuck on stupid”, as Claire McCaskill knew (just because we do not like her or her political convictions does not me that she is stupid).

I will always prefer a true conservative over a RINO, but there are other factors. And when some of those factors concerning one stupid GOP’er can be utilized by the Dems to discredit other smart, socially-adept conservatives, the question becomes much more complicated. As Rush would say, I’m from Realville ... and Todd Akin ain’t makin’ it. He is a hindrance, even a detriment, like it or not. And he can and will be used as a poster boy - whether fairly or not - to inflame all the worst thoughts of people toward all other Republicans.

In this sense we do indeed police our own, for there are more metrics here than simply those that differentiate between RINO and conservative - that is real world reality.

That is the bottom line of this situation. Deal with it.

And I truly fear it as well. That is the sad truth. And the Chicago goon squad that backs Obama salivates to have such a thing dropped in their laps now to distract from the sheer incompetence or misguidedness (take your pick) of Obama and his Chicago machine. They will use the stupidity and dense-headedness of Akin to swing undiscerning voters away from the real issues with National Enquirer-like foolishness so helpfully given them by Akin.

Well, JediJones, you may be right in all that you say. But in Realville you have to eat what’s set before you, play the hand you were dealt the best you can. That is reality. Next time, perhaps, the food will be better and the cards dealt us more to our liking, but now we have a choice between truly bad and not-as-good-as-we-would-like. Anything or anyone who helps maintain that which is truly bad, i.e., the Obama presidency, I am against ... even if I have to settle for the not-as-good-as-I-would-like. And Akin is such an anything or anyone.

You need to ease up on the fat boy ... I mean, hell, did you ever try to dress a nude woman underwater?

Also, give the guy credit. Did you know he's been sober for two whole years now ... and counting?

That slot in the books has already been taken by perennial election loser Willard Mitt Romney who can't get his poll numbers consistently above the worst president in the worst economy in decades.

Exactly correct, now this helps him exactly how? Things are bad enough and Republicans are not the majority on MO, and besides they don't vote in lock step anyway.

It is an unfortunate thing to be caught in the bear traps that the LMS always have set for Conservatives, the only way out of them is to chew off a leg, he needs to get started before Gangrene sets in.

Two stubborn facts remain: (1) Akin is better than McCaskill, and (2) Akin is the Republican Nominee

True but like Romney Akin is likely to lose, only difference is Akin probably has more downside pressure on Romney than Romney has on him.

You've been following these threads for this long and you still never heard of "statutory rape?"

I think we all know, problem is that is not what Akin was referring to and you know it.

His rational was that woman resisting would build a natural immunity to rape, so obviously he wasn't talking about statutory rape, but someone lying about rape.

I must point out that Chappaquidick DID prevent him from ever running for president.

No, it didn't. He challenged Jimmy Carter in 1980. He was unsuccessful, but that's not surprising considering Carter was a sitting president and almost as liberal as anything Teddy would have brought to the table for the "librul" wing.

You are a sickening coward and/or the worst kind of useful idiot to those who would destroy the foundations of this country. Get out of my party.

Which party would that be exactly?

Jedi you have had a bad day, don't make it worse by insisting that we all have a bad four years. Romney is scum as far as I am concerned, but we must have the Senate.

I can’t believe he again blew it when Hannity gave him a chance to explain it. His thinking was just not clear. Is no one on his campaign able to prepare him?

If he did it twice in a row, it raises the odds that FRiends redgolum and WVNan have it figured right: that he was a Manchurian candidate, a fraud, an imposter, from the start, and that Plan A was for him to get the nom, then ditch the election accidentally-on-purpose.

I'm using Romney to prove my thesis that Christian conservatives get thrown under the bus by the GOP elites for stuff that RINOs never would.

You are exactly right about that unfortunately being right will not matter if we lose the Senate. We haven't ran a Conservative since Ronald Reagan and I have held my nose and voted for every loser they put on the ticket, and I include both Bush's in that category. I will be voting in Oregon this year so my vote matters not one whit to anyone but me and God, I can afford to be contentious but we can not lose the Senate or the Republic will not survive, but then again neither will I.

Just like Bush did Lott

Lott was a bigger Democrat than Clinton, he only ran as a Republican to ride Reagan's coatails.

It’s the double standard. It’s ALWAYS the double standard.

If he were a ‘rat, he would be celebrated for being honest, and for caring about an obscure something or another.

Just look at Biden, for goodness sakes!

However, he said a very stupid thing during a very important election campaign season.

Do I think he should be crucified? NO!

Do I think he should put the country before his aspirations? YES.

Sola.....the ENTIRE COUNTRY is at stake.....the SUPREME COURT is at stake...... our HEALTH CARE is at stake...our FREEDOM and the WORLD'S FREEDOM is at stake.

This is NOT any usual election. EVERYTHING is at stake. We are at a tipping point and Akin is NOT going to get elected and it's a seat we COULD have easily picked up to help SAVE the country.
