In an interview with the Washington National Cathedral magazine, President Obama discussed how his faith influenced his politics — saying that at the end of the day 'God is in control.'

“First and foremost, my Christian faith gives me a perspective and security that I don’t think I would have otherwise: that I am loved. That, at the end of the day, God is in control," Obama said.

Obama also tied faith in God to his belief in a compassionate role for government.

I am not catholic. I was not issued a certificate. Nor am I less connected to Christ my savior for lacking that paper.

Well, I have all my papers, including the Bible I received from the Church on the day of my confirmation.

I suspect if I was ever given such, I would cherish them as well. But they are not required for me to be a Christian.

Course the evidence that Obama is a practicing Christian (ahem golf on most Sunday's no attending of church services)to my way of looking at is somewhat lacking.

Using “my Christian faith” as a phrase is a dead giveaway. We speak of ourselves as being “Christians” or by declaring that “CHRIST is our savior”. While some may use the phrase "my Christian faith"... it is seldom heard by me... and the man that said it also told stephanopolis “my muslim faith”. There is a pattern... I see it clearly.
