Poll: Romney grabs lead in Wisconsin
Washington Times ^

Posted on 08/21/2012 8:53:47 PM PDT by TigerClaws

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney has opened up a 1-point lead in the key battleground state of Wisconsin, according to a poll released Tuesday. The poll by Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling shows Mr. Romney leading President Obama 48 percent to 47 percent in the Badger State. The results are identical to those from a Rasmussen Reports poll released last week. Mr. Obama, who won Wisconsin by 14 percentage points in 2008, consistently has led in state polls but has seen his lead evaporate in the two weeks since Mr. Romney announced Wisconsin GOP Rep. Paul Ryan as his running mate.

Thank you, thank you and thank you again, fellow Wisconsinites. We need to do everything in our power to pull off a victory for Tommy Thompson (not my first choice) and R/R of course.

Ryan was a brilliant pick. Probably puts WI into the “Lean Republican” category - something no one expected prior. Also, people in MI identify a lot with WI, and that state may now be a toss-up.

The president has a lot of work in his backyard to do, before he can even try to get to work in what were supposed to be the “battleground” states.

Ryan was great on Hanniry.

Need to make this a campaign of ideas and issues and we’ll win.

Yea, he’s killing Obama over Medicare. The Dems NEVER saw that coming.

MSNBC was just discussing how Obama is staying ahead in the polls despite Mitt’s add campaign. Typical liberal lies.

1 point lead is still in the margin of ACORN voter fraud. We need a much bigger lead than that to combat the dead people, illegals, and dogs/cats who will somehow all vote Dem in November

By choosing Ryan, Romney elevated the intelligence level of the campaign. That is the last thing the Dems want. I suspect Ryan is attracting the so-called moderate segment of the population which probably includes a number of people who formerly sneered at Republicans for being, in their minds, anti-intellectual. Before they could justify voting for the "intellectual" Obama as the thinking man's candidate.

Ryan proves that the Obama intellectual edifice was all a facade. They can see Obama has no coherent plan for anything except to dismantle free-enterprise America. Despite their clamor that they welcomed the entrance of Ryan as an excellent propaganda i.e. demogoguery opportunity, the Dems are quite unprepared for Ryan.
