Oh, is that why they were left off the list? I thought that only applied to a third party or independent run. I didn’t know that other primary candidates could not be appointed either if Akin had stepped aside.
It was so typical that the GOP would go to its list of retreads that I went through the roof. Talent was ok but he lost the last election. What’s needed is somebody new and young and thoroughly conservative.
But in any case, if Akin remains on the ballot, I hope he wins. I would love to see liberal (and republican) faces should he be successful.
If Akin had stepped down prior to 5PM deadline yesterday, anyone could have been appointed to run. But Primary candidates cannot be written in nor run third Party.
