I agree with you 100%. The first time I ever heard a candidate speak on abortion was Ronald Reagan while he was campaigning, just a little over 6 years after Roe was passed. Reagan believed in the exceptions of rape, incest and life of the mother, and so do I. As I said yesterday, I consider the exceptions as inviolate as the pro-life plank itself, as do many others.

And there we have the real reason for dumping Akin and demonizing him. It's not because he said something "insensitive," "repugnant" or "unscientific." It's because "a certain amount of abortion is OK and we don't want anyone rejecting the GOP because of these "extremists.""
