Feds warn anarchists could blockade roads, use acid-filled eggs to protest conventions

Federal authorities are urging law enforcement agencies across the country to watch out for signs that extremists might be planning to wreak havoc at the upcoming political conventions -- by blocking roads, shutting down transit systems and even employing what were described as acid-filled eggs.

The warning came in a joint FBI-Department of Homeland Security bulletin issued Wednesday.

The bulletin specifically warned about a group of anarchists from New York City who could be planning to travel to the convention sites to disrupt the events by blockading bridges.

Anarchists "see both parties as the problem," so both conventions are prime targets for them, a federal law enforcement official told Fox News.

The Republican National Convention is set to open Monday in Tampa, Fla., and the Democratic National Convention gets underway a week later in Charlotte, N.C.

The joint bulletin, titled "Potential For Violent or Criminal Action By Anarchist Extremists During The 2012 National Political Conventions," says anarchist extremists likely don't have the capability to overcome heightened security measures set up by the conventions themselves. In addition, Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor said Tuesday that fences have been established around "some of the more attractive government targets."

Instead, extremists could target nearby infrastructure, including businesses and transit systems, according to Wednesday's bulletin.

The bulletin mentions possible violent tactics anarchist extremists could employ, including the use of molotov cocktails or acid-filled eggs.

Yeah... Why fill them with anything? Just let them sit outside and ripen a bit... Less work, more damage.

With 10-20 inches you’ll see flooding. Eventually it all runs into the ocean or down into the acquifer.

I am praying with all my heart that he is wrong. But, I am old enough to be terribly afraid that he is close to right.

I am old, and do not care about myself, but I care about my adult children and my grandchildren.

I do not frighten easily, by the way, and love to poke fun at “scare-mongers”. Please pray with me that God will disrupt the plans of the wicked, and will help us return to morality.

That is all we have to do, and we do not need to force our views on others. We just have to have the courage to stand up for our own beliefs.

Why do they scream like scalded cats when we try to state our beliefs, when we are not telling them what choices to make - only the choices we make.

Why do they feel so strongly that we are not entitled to state our beliefs in the public square? Why do they find our beliefs so frightening that they have to shout us down, disparage us, insult us? They have the freedom in our country to state their beliefs, why can’t we state ours?

Just wondering?

(sent to 2ndDV privately as well)

I want to see them soaking wet, with wind and rain spitting in their faces and putting out their fires.

“All the news agencies are referring to the bulletin but I haven’t found a link to it yet. “

This suggests that a one-page press release went out with the details, but the report itself may be classified.

So they let out what they wanted us to know.

Amen to that...I'll add that I want handcuffs on them as they're being frog marched to the paddy wagons kicking and screaming.

“Meanwhile they are telling the normal
public to come and enjoy the event.”

One of the funniest posts ever.

False flag is right. Just calling them “anarchists” is false flag right off the bat.

I’m fully expecting the fake-anarchists to cause trouble. I’m a bit worried their allies the “jihadists” may try something too.

Pray. Prepare. They feed on weakness and run when we get our back up. And most of us, our backs are already up.

“Anarchists-jihadists could cause big problems.”

This is fear-porn from the government. They specialize in it.

Just how bad would it have to be before the convention is cancelled or postponed?

I can imagine thousands of protester hitchiking to Tampa, living in tents with no easy access to shelter.

And then at the very least they get a strong tropical storm.

I would dearly love to see Shep Smith with his mascara running vainly attempting to stand up straight in 100 mph winds, all the while OWS protesters are rolling down the rain soaked streets like desert tumbleweeds.

Storms which come up the Gulf of Mexico side produce tornadoes across the state (right side of storm) and that will be a BIG factor regardless of whether it is a CAT 1 or a CAT 2. Anyone outside can get caught in a fast moving tornado as the storm moves north. Any anarchists or protestors outside will find the driving wind and rain and constant tornado warnings quite disconcerting.

10 inches of hot rain would suppress the protesters. It would make any of their fire bombs laughable and dilute any chemical weapons they'd try to uselessness. But would it be enough to cancel the convention? Here in eastern Iowa we actually have seen 10-12 inches of horizontal rain over a few hours. It took the little creek running through the Iowa Quad Cities to 24' above flood stage and flooded about 600 homes. How much rain can Tampa take and still leave the convention functioning? I'd think more than outdoor protesters could take. And if they try to move their protests indoors, they either stay civil or are fairly easily rounded up. Maybe the storm won't prove God to be a Democrat, as some wags have proposed, but will be carefully titrated to show the opposite.

Here is a good example of what it will be like in Tampa:
